Jeez Rath, is seems you have one of those every week.
I've had TWO this week. Pay attention!
BTW, that headline with the photos of Minnelli and Stritch? Very disappointing.
Haha SM! So true!
Rath, I thought the same thing when I clicked on it. What a let down.
I love My Fair Lady too. **sigh**
I'm thinking I want some chocolate now. That's what I'm thinking. Dark chocolate.
HEY!!!!!! GET YOUR HANDS OFF THAT!!!!
back for the evening
Deep, rich, dark Belgian Chocolate.
*goes to kitchen*
Good. Enjoy, D2, while you miss MARY KATHERINE GALLAGHER, suckaaaaa!!!
They say chocolate's a substitute for sex. What's your excuse, D2?
It's no substitute, dear, it's an additional tool.
Hi Tink!
I LOVE MOLLY SHANNNNOOONNNNNNN!!!!
Hello D2! How was My Fair Lady?
I love MY FAIR LADY!
delayed double post
So far, SNL is good tonight!
I love MY FAIR LADY, but I think Part II drags on a bit. Also, Nixon's dubbing of Hepburn irks me to no end because the voices don't match. It's the same story with WEST SIDE STORY. However, Nixon and Kerr's voice (in THE KING AND I) sound very similar, it's eerie. I read that Kerr sang certain sections of SHALL I TELL YOU WHAT AI THINK OF YOU? and you can't tell it's two voices being used. And to think Nixon was a last minute replacement.
I love the singing voice in My Fair Lady and WSS.
SALLY O'MALLEY!!!!
I know what you're talking about, SM2, but it doesn't bother me all that much. And the film's art direction and cinematography are just so gorgeous - every frame is a visual masterpiece.
Same with The Omen 2006 remake, D2, but it doesn't make the film a classic!
I never said MY FAIR LADY is a classic. I leave that to greater minds than mine to decide. I just said I love it. Love it, love it, love it. On stage, on screen, on the page, I just love it.
I didn't know how else to finish my punch line, okay? Sheesh!
Sorry, Rath. I'm just missing all the punch lines tonight, aren't I?
I guess I need some more chocolate.
*goes off in search of D2'sJ2*
Dude, did you have to go there?
*covers ears and sings loudly* LALALALALALALA!!!!!
Where else was I going to go?
The main board? NOW!
All the same, I think MARY POPPINS deserved the Best Picture Oscar over MY FAIR LADY.
D2, I suppose it goes without saying that you also love PYGMALION (one of my favorite plays, by the way). The musical borrowed heavily from the 1938 Howard/Hiller film.
