Soapy! I'm not gonna sugarcoat this:
I miss you.
Your warmth and humor add so much to this thread.
Anyhoo, definitely check out The Mist. I know you don't like those kind of flicks, but trust me. And let me know what you think when you're done.
Oh, and DO NOT cut it off. You must watch till the very end.
I didn't cry in THE MIST, but the ending disturbed me for a couple days. The only other two movie endings that have affected me so are THELMA & LOUISE and ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST.
It's funny you mention that taz, because I just watched it again last week with a bunch of my friends. They all HATED it and thought I was weird for saying that it was one of my favorite King adaptations.
They just don't understand.
My bro in Japan now has my 2-disc collector's set. Well, it's his now.
Kasie, you up for the Lizzie Borden bed & breakfast?
I love coming back and posting in this thread just to get a nice welcom from Tazzy. I miss you too.
I have a laundry list of movies I'm being forced to watch. I actually just got around to seeing Brokeback Moutian. I got a strong urge to slap a straight person and decided that I shouldn't watch it again.
Next I'm watching, The Three Pirate Johnny Depp Movies, Across The Universe, Ironman, and The Mist. I'm hoping I can cram those all into Tuesday.
Well, I cried this time b/c I felt the connection between father and son more closely.
I can't say anymore.
The 3 Pirates movies are 9 hours combined. I couldn't get through the second one.
I've never seen Brokeback Mountain, but I've really been meaning to watch it.
Stagey - You know it! Can't wait.

The father/son connection in THE MIST spoke wistfully to me, too.
Any opinions on the Lord Of The Rings and Star Wars movies?
Kasie, If you're easily depressed then stay away.
I cried at The Little Mermaid! I'm very sensitive when it comes to movies. Sad ones, that is.
I've only seen the first Pirates. I fell asleep.
I was depressed for like a week after watching Artificial Intelligence.
I don't remeber crying at the Little Mermaid, or what the ending was like. *Tries to remeber if he actualy saw the movie as a child.*
soapy, you've opened a can of worms with that LOTR request!
Speaking of crying in THE LITTLE MERMAID, I used to get heavy-hearted during the part toward the end where Ariel sees Eric and Vanessa's wedding ship sail off and she slides down and begins to sob.
Edit: Oh, nevermind then.
Just kidding! It's nothing bad. But LOTR is tazber's favorite movie(s), so he could tell you pretty much everything you wanted/needed to know regarding the trilogy.
I'm out of it, it's bedtime for Soapy. Goodnight, guys.
Goodnight!
I don't think I've ever seen Lord of the Rings.

Kasie, meet Taz.
Taz, meet Kasie.
*steps away*
LOTR is THE BEST MOVIE(S) EVER MADE!
kc, as my female twin I'm deeply disappointed in you.
Good evening Q
Really? Is it that good?
If it's any consolation, Kasie, I haven't seen 'em, either. I hope to. One day. That's not today.
Well, they are technically brilliant. Not just the effects, but the cinematography, the score, the whole package.
Jackson created an entirely new world that is so real you really get lost in it.
For what it's worth, the trilogy was nominated for a slew of Oscars, with the first two segments winning a handful each and culminating with THE RETURN OF THE PRINCE winning all of its 11 nominations (including Best Picture & Director) and tying BEN-HUR and TITANIC with the record for most wins.
I heard that The Mist was really good and wanted to see it, but I don't handle scary movies so well. I don't know if I should give in and watch it.

I can't say that I'm all that much of a fan of the 'fantasy' genre - either in cinema or in print.
BUT, those three films taken together - which to me are really just one big, LONG film - represent one of the greatest artistic achievements ever. In any medium.
Return Of The KING stagey.
actr, the scariest monsters in The Mist are the humans. Really, I can't reccommend highly enough.
