Fierce.
Didn't care for The Alphabet Killer that much.
Watching Zack and Miri right now. It's pretty funny.
Meant to see that, but never did.
Who's excited for the Oscars?
Kasie, you're only watching it for Jay's full monty!
Damn. How'd you know?! Is that why you watched it?
I'm beyond excited scott! Can't wait to see who wins Best Actor. Do you think it'll be Penn or Rourke?

SOme people do xmas
Some people do yom kippur
I do the Oscars.
I bask in the vicarious adulation.
I don't really care who wins Best Actor.
However, Best Actress has always been a favorite category. This year I think the statuette should definitely go to Anne Hathaway for RACHEL GETTING MARRIED. She was magnificent in that. She should get it for the awkward/inappropriate rehearsal dinner speech alone.
Kate Winslet is long overdue for an Oscar, but she shouldn't get it for THE READER. I enjoyed her performance enough, but she's done better. Same goes for Meryl Streep. Her role in DOUBT is not one of her best performances by far. Melissa Leo was pretty good in FROZEN RIVER, but she never really wowed me. And Angelina is just a filler.
Leo was my favorite perf but it didn't have a "big" moment. But she really lived in that character.
I haven't seen Doubt.
Hathaway was fantastic. She's so young though, the voters always figure she'll have plenty of chances (also known a DiCaprio syndrome)
But I think Winslet takes the golden dildo this year.
I have mixed feelings, because I do think she's going to win it (Winslet, that is), and I love her and think she's long overdue for her Oscar, but the fact is, a. this shouldn't be the role that wins her the Oscar and b. I don't think she necessarily gave an Oscar-worthy performance. I enjoyed her performance very much (even considering my dislike of the movie overall), but I can't believe there weren't better performances delivered this year. (Sadly, this is the one category whose movies I haven't seen many of.)
Since when do actors win for the performance they deserve to win for? Oscar history is littered with wins for people who should have won for better performances and finally got the statue for something lesser.
If Hathaway doesn't take the prize tomorrow, she will win eventually. Probably for THE PRINCESS DIARIES 87: THE REVOLUTION.

LOL, D2!
How goes it taz?
well. I'm hanging with some friends and just chillin'. Hows about yourself Miss Kasie?
I'm okay. Just taking it easy tonight.
You were right about The Alphabet Killer, btw. Awful.
Did you see Quarantine yet?
Yes, I really enjoyed it! It kind of reminded me of Behind the Mask because of the way it was filmed... with the reporter and the handheld and whatnot.
I'm excited to see the Poughkeepsie Tapes. I think it's by the same director as Quarantine.
I loved Behind The Mask.
I think it's in my top ten horror films. It was far more clever deconstruction of the genre than any of those Scream type of films.
Yeah, it was definitely clever. It managed to go from being a hilarious comedy, to an extremely scary film in a matter of seconds. The ending is one of my favorite scenes in all of horror movies.
LOVED it.
I don't get to see the damn Oscars...tonight is closing performance of "Ragtime".
Oh, wait, I have DVR. Nevermind!
How is everyone? I miss you kids!
JAILY!!!! *attacks*
Hey there, you!
The Oscars were a hot mess, but at least they were minutely more interesting than past years. Still don't understand the performance thing, though.

I'm more interested in the other things you saw this weekend, Sam. How was WSS?
It was a lot of fun! I don't want to post a full review, because it was just the dress rehearsal, but... in a sentence, the show was moments of brilliance and some fairly big missteps in an overall quite enjoyable production.
