Well, long-winded or not, it gets to the heart of it I KNEW Taz would take the bait!

Maybe I've just experienced a bit too much emotional and physical trauma to 'get it' - but if it doesn't make me laugh, smile, giggle, or swoon in appreciation of the love involved, I'm not interested.

I get everything you've stated, but I do wonder about the need for that type of experience induced by an artificial source.

I get that all the time.

People always judge the merit of art that they don't get.
How many people feel that bway musicals are just silly? More than feel otherwise.
And how many times have you heard someone comment "I could do that" while looking at modern art?

If it connects with someone in a meaningful way, on whatever level, then I say it's all good.

I, on the other hand, don't see why EVER AFTER isn't hailed as a masterpiece.

Different strokes, I guess.

But, mine are better - and more natural

I loved Ever After. It would have been better had there been some torture thrown in, but for what it was it was sweet.
