I can do them one better:
We never got around to taking down our tree from last Christmas. It's in the basement family room, which we have rarely used since our daughter moved out. Out of sight, out of mind. In July I was so mortified, yet lazy, that I threw a sheet over it. I drew eyes on the sheet for Halloween - my own 7 ft ghost. I guess I'll dress it as a pilgrim this month.
I could be embarrassed by this whole thing, but I've decided to find it quirky and charming.

Blue,
I have a friend who has a holiday tree that he keeps up all year long, and he just decorates it for the next holiday.
He's made or bought ornaments for every holiday!

To make matters worse, his father died a few years before...on Christmas day...and my sister's birthday was Dec. 23rd...mom called her her Christmas angel.
Seriously...it was just too much.
BTW everyone...I'm bringing my hollow leg along for drinks...so watch out!

I'm putting my decorations and lights up this weekend. I can't wait to play Christmas music again.
Christmas is my favorite time of year, so it can come as early as it wants!

Bluemoon, that's awesome!
But yeah, half the block has Christmas lights already. I'm not really into the whole cutesy Christmas thing (yeah, 'bah humbug' and all that), especially since my mom is one of those elementary teachers who wears Christmas sweaters everyday for a month and only plays Christmas carols during the Advent season, so I'm not really all that thrilled. I just don't see how people can get so into all of this Christmas themed stuff. I do, however, love those little German advent calendars that let you open the cardboard doors and find a little chocolate for each day in December!

LOL, Schmerg! My mom was an elementary school teacher too so I feel your pain with the Christmas sweaters!
I like to have the tree up. We put it in the bay window and when it's all lit up at night with snow falling outside it looks really pretty. Because it will be snowing daily here pretty soon. Although today I'm in shorts it's so nice.
