Is anyone elses summer sucking?

Hey y'all,

I was wondering how many of you out there are having pretty sh*tty summers. The only thing keeping me sane is my rehearsals for Annie Get Your Gun (I am Tommy Keeler). Today we did our first full run through (pretty much a dress rehearsal, except without our costumes) and we were awesome. But other than that I am stuck in a city I don't want to be in, and none of my freinds are around. I am SOOO lonely here, and this os coming form someone who has lived on his own for two years in a city where he knew nobody). Gah...shoutout to everyone else out there not living it up this summer!

Akiva - you need to be careful about using the term 'sucking' - the combination with some people's fantasies about you might cause some damage

My summer sucks, too. 10+ hours a day doing farm work. Ugh...college.....costs...way...too.....much...

3 sumnmer classes (physics, math and a grad level fam course) all to be completed and passed with at least B's (or else I may not be able to get into my program and graduate) in 8 weeks, teaching kids from 1st-8th grade in subjects ranging from french to greek mythology, to chemistry, to pottery, etc. I get no help with lesson plans, and I usually have 2 different subjects to teach a day. Plus my brother in law is getting deployed for Iraq and he is in training about 3 hours away from my house so every time he gets a weekend off he and other family members converge on my house regardless of what I have going on. I am stressed and need a break. Plus all my friends from college have graduated and are moving away.

You know what, Ak? This is your life. The one life you get. And if you sit around saying it sucks it's going to continue to suck and the suckage becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. You have the power to make your summer not suck by FORCING yourself to get out of the suckage rut. I would do it, you could be dead tomorrow. (And how bad can your summer suck when you just regaled us with tales of exciting super-fun at the rodeo and details of the hotness of the people there? Please tell me this isn't one of those "I need to be overstimulated at all times or I will use the two word lament of my generation 'I'm BORED.'")

Also. Your summer sucks because that's what sublimation DOES to you.

My summer is absolutely terrific!

I'm catching up on my reading.

My tan is so deep I've been mistaken for a gingerbread man.

My gardens are doing extremely well. (Can't wait to taste those tomatoes!)

I'm leaving for Europe next week.

How can I complain?

That's so weird, I just read a PM from The Artist Formerly Known as BSoBW that nobody likes me and those who do are suck ups.

Good to know I can hit nails on heads.

Be careful of your skin DP, I know the Italians don't burn, but that skin cancer stuff is bad.

Anyone else having my summer (2 car wrecks, no money, being sick, friends pissing you off) would say it sucks, but for some reason I think this is one of the best summers I've had yet...

I agree with Namo, my summer isn't that great, but I am making the best out of it. Life is what you make of it. I unfortunatly chose to make my summer a stress fest, but oh well. I am still finding ways to have fun and make it at the very least bearable and at other tiems amazing. I hope things look up Link.

Yeah, but something tells me your stressfest will pay off in the long run. Like this may be one summer where you don't get the break you need, but look at all you're accomplishing. And accomplishment doesn't suck.

Why complain? One of my best summers was when I apprenticed at the Santa Fe Opera and I sucked quite a lot. Oh well - to each their own.
