During the campaign, folks were claiming the Obama was a Muslim, though he declared himself to be a Christian. He even had a crazy pastor to back up that claim. Now, he's hosting a seder in the White House? Shouldn't he just pick one religion and stick with it?

Last year, he held a seder with his staff, and after the traditional "Next year in Jerusalem", they added "Next Year in the White House".

yes, unfortunately, he is. mb's one of the leading theocrats on this board. he's so fanatical he makes goth look agnostic. i have long tried to warn people about his deeply insidious agenda, but as long as he was parroting the obamacrat party line, he was untouchable. well, i hope this serves as a wake-up call to you sheep out there who were unwilling to recognize the wolf among you!

Now, he's Rahm Emmanuel is hosting a seder in the White House in order to appease liberal Jews with lots of money.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

You know what Goth - I have friends who are devout Christians who love to come to my family's Seder. The historical significance in Christianity of the Seder appeals to them. They bring their children, who ask questions, and everyone has a lovely time.

It must be very lonely being you.

If you'd bothered to read the article, Goth, you'd have seen that Rahm Emanuel will be unable to attend the president's seder because he is spending the holiday with his family.

The Jerusalem Post article has more detail:

In his letter, Obama called the story of Jews' ascent from slavery to freedom in the Land of Israel as "among the most powerful stories of suffering and redemption in human history," accompanied by rituals and symbols that indicate "the beauty of freedom and the responsibility it entails."

He also said the holiday presented a message for all humankind. "As part of a larger global community, we all must work to ensure that our brothers and sisters of every race, religion, culture and nationality are free from bondage and repression, and are able to live in peace."

He concluded his letter with the traditional Hebrew greeting "chag sameach," or happy holiday.

YWIW, I think it's great that the White House is having a seder. It's a beautiful thing and I've attended seders many times.

But Democrats only pull out religion when they need something. (Remember Hillary Clinton practicing her southern accent in black churches).

Obama has just come back from his "hate America" tour where he said "America is not a Christian or Jewish nation." If it's not, then why is he holding a Jewish ceremony in the White House?

And YWIW, don't project your personality on me. I have my God and my guns to cling to. It must be very lonely being you.

Nah, I am pretty happy being me. I have my beliefs, and believe or not, my guns as well. And ammo. And a license.

Obama is President of all Americans. I am glad that he is showing respect and interest in the history and traditions of other religions. I guess when other Presidents participate in lighting a Menorah at Hannukah that is somehow pandering...

We have very different perspectives.
