Is the musical "Song of Norway" on dvd?

Does anyone know if the film musical "Song of Norway" is on dvd? It was out on video in the late 90's, but is out of print?

Maybe ebay would have something?

Oh, from your mouth to no one's ears! What a horrible piece of garbage that one is. I remember sitting in this palatial theater and watching it on the gigantic screen in Super Panavision 70, with only two other people in the entire place. It looks beautiful in 70MM, but boy does it stink. Can't imagine what a DVD version would have to offer, even on the best home-theater system.

My grandparents saw it when it first came out and they really liked it. Granted, I think what they really liked was the scenery of Norway, as it's a breathtakingly beautiful country.

Maybe, one day it will come out on dvd.

I agree that it's a horrible film. I saw the stage version at the Jones Beach Theater many, many years ago and loved it. Maybe a company like the NYC Opera should revive it.

I really want to see this, Song of Norway and another unfortunate movie musical called The Great Waltz, two of the 1970s Movie Musical disasters that are not available. The 70s were not good to the movie musical, but most of the bombs are fascinating in some way or another.

Elphaba, it is out on video. It's currently out of print. The version that I have is a double tape and it's just a pan&scan version.

Maybe one day a remastered/restored print will be done and it can come out on dvd.

Then that means it's in that horrible Region 2 PAL format, which pitches everyone's voices too high. I can't watch a Region 2 film. I don't know how all those Europeans can stand it!
