"KAMPALA, Uganda -- The front-page newspaper story featured a list of Uganda's 100 'top' homosexuals, with a bright yellow banner across it that read: 'Hang Them.' Alongside their photos were the men's names and addresses."

Who is it that is primarily fueling this hatred? Hint - they find support in the bible - and in tax-free donations from American Christian churches.

A few months ago, Rachel Maddow did a series of reports on this, showing the links to US 'Christian' organizations and politicians. It's actual journalism, something we don't see too often on cable news. I highly recommend searching for the reports.

Gotta respect the honesty of the Ugandans. At least they make it clear where they stand. They're not defending in court the policies they pretended to want discontinued.

And for what it is worth, when President Palin takes power in 2012, we will be in Uganda.

"when President Palin takes power in 2012"

There was a time I scoffed mightily at this thought. Now, watching who and what is seriously being considered at the mid-terms, I have to wonder. I can't wonder too much or too long, though, because it will just lead to a Scanners moment.

I'm not sure which idiom is more appropriate, the one about a society getting the government it deserves, or the one about evil thriving when good people do nothing. Somehow, I think both will be appropriate come election night this year.
