Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Tomorrow mornings commute should be fun.

No! After the blizzard in December and the double blizzards two weeks ago, I have had it with snow. But fortunately the forecasters are saying that the DC area isn't supposed to get the worst of it. Hopefully that will remain true.
But yeah, the commute tomorrow will be hellish.

Posted: 2/24/10 at 6:52pmThe evening commute won't be a barrel of laughs either.

Posted: 2/24/10 at 11:14pmFrom what I understand the morning commute in the PA/NJ area will be wet but not bad. It'll be the evening commute that's going to be trouble.

Posted: 2/25/10 at 6:57amMy daughter's high school play (Oliver!) is this weekend, and tonight's performance has already been cancelled. It's possible that all four performances may be cancelled. It would be devastating; these kids have put in countless hours. I don't know if there is a 'plan b' for another weekend, but given how our facilities are always in use, I'd be (very pleasantly) surprised.

Posted: 2/25/10 at 9:05amJust found out that there is no 'plan b'. Due to the way they obtained the rights, they cannot add any performances.

Posted: 2/25/10 at 11:07amThat sucks...I open the show I am directing in 2 weeks I am hoping for no more snow and my dad's school's show is also this weekend (they are doing White Christmas, how ironic) and they also have no plan b

I hope they at least get to do a few performances!
We were supposed to have snow all day here, but it's sunny right now.

The morning commute here was not bad at all. The roads were a little wet and there was some snow on the car. But it was the light, fluffy kind that brushes off very easily.
It was coming down in big, fat flakes earlier but the flakes are smaller now and the speed of the snowfall seems to have picked up. One of my coworkers said that her son's school had announced early dismissal before school even started.
The biggest issue being talked about is the wind. I heard on the radio that PA has tree specialists on standby to deal with any fallen limbs. Hopefully everyones houses come out unscathed. We lost a few limbs in the last storm but none of them were near the house.
Weather.com is calling for snow through Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to get out of the house for work tomorrow.
ETA: They're calling for rain in LA next Friday. That's supposed to be my Disneyland day.

#15It's The Big One Elizabeth
Posted: 2/25/10 at 5:52pmIt's not sticking here either. It's like an annoying rain storm. The roads are wet but clear.

Posted: 2/25/10 at 5:54pmIt was starting to stick over by Henry's karate class, but by the time we got back here it wasn't sticking. That's the thing about being near the Lake....you get these snow bands and it could be snowing hard in one place, and not at all a mile away.

Posted: 2/25/10 at 7:23pmIt's getting a little worse here now.

Posted: 2/26/10 at 8:56amI'm stuck in the house today. I hated calling out of work because there are projects on my desk that need to be done and I'm going on vacation next week

This has been one of the worst snowstorms ever. Well, in the sense that I don't remember the last time I saw snow this bad up here. Any weather map has my area in the 24+ inches area. It isn't snowing now, but that could change again. I haven't gone outside yet, but our sundial is almost covered, and that is a little over 2 feet tall.
I was going out of my mind because the internet finally came back up, after being out since Wednesday evening. And one of my cats died last night. He was extremely old though. He lived to be 18 1/2.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty Marianne......
It's snowing here pretty hard, but so far the roads are still clear.
