It's really nice out here in NYC today. I love summer days like this:) It reminded me of that song that was so popular two summers ago by Sheryl Crow "soak up the sun" Some songs really bring back alot of memories. If you had to choose one song that summed up your past summer or this one what would it be?

Last summer it was The Strokes' first album. We played it at every party. Oh, and The White Stripes' album too. I once went to an all-night party and loved it so much that I stayed in town (in dirty smelly sleepover clothes, complete with sleeping bag and rucksack) and waited until 11 o'clock for the shop to open so I could buy a copy.

say what?

I remember when the Stripes' "Elephant" came out too. I went to two Best Buys in the city, one in Brooklyn, and it was sold out day of. Had to wait till I got traveled up to Buffalo that weekend to purchase it. And it wasn't on sale either. Worth it though.

"SUNY Binghamton, yes. I'm sure getting a degree from SUNY Binghamton is very useful. Normally to get a degree with that kind of credibility you'd have to study in Guatemala or Haiti."

Here's a blast from the past. "Beach Baby" by the First Class. They were actually from Scotland (if I remember right) and had never seen Southern California ever.
But also almost any Beach Boy song, sums up summer. ( my fav happens to be Sloop John B)

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

I couldn't stop listening to Brand New's cd Deja Entendu last summer and it was my beach cd so now whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of summer.
John Mayer and Jason Mraz remind me of summer too for some reason.

John Mayer and Dave Matthews Band. Anything from them. Also, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling..." Soundtrack. Weird, I know.

There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

I've got a theory some kid is dreaming, and we're all stuck inside his wacky Broadway nightmare...
reminds me more of driving in the car late at night in a wonderful Canadian winter....strange.
