It's autumn in Detroit. I'm so jealous of you
"LEAFERS!"
That is all.
I love Boston in Autumn. It's beautiful in the city, but you go a few miles out and you get all that wonderful New England folliage.

"Autumn in New York
Why does it seem so inviting
Autumn in New York
It spells the thrill of first-nighting
glittering crowds and shimmering clouds
In canyons of steel
They're making me feel - I'm home"
Sing it, Ella!
It's such a wonderful song: wistful, hopeful, happy and melancholy, all at the same time.
It's autumn in New York
That brings the promise of new love.
But Autumn in New York
Is often mingled with pain.
It's cold and rainy here today, DG, and it feels just like Ella's version of that song.

I love it, PJ - and goodness knows, Ms. Ella can capture every little nuance of what there is to feel.
Here, we're still stuck on Ms. Miller's "Too Darn Hot!"
I love this song, PJ...
...and REALLY wish I was in New York, this time of year.
Hey, when DO the leaves actually start to turn colors and fall off in New York? Isn't it more like late-October??
I've lived in Los Angeles too long... the "Land of One Perpetual Season," so I forget. It's all one big, long, endless season out here... forever.
The seasonal changes are a great way of marking time. I don't miss freezing my ass off through winter, though!
Loved listening to Mel Torme singing it
The old Velvet Fog is gone
this is my favorite time of the year. the leaves are starting to change already :)
And don't forget Billie Holiday's melancholy version, from her this Verve album:
It's actually been raining for the past week...nonstop.
...and springtime for Hitler.
Seriously, I love the weather today. Cold, rainy, windy. Time to make a stew. Of course, come Monday, it'll be hot and humid again.
it may be autumn in New York...
but it's still DAMN HOT in Houston
Every time I've been to Houston it's DAMN HOT AND F**KING HUMID!!!! Still love the town...
God, it's awful right now.
But we've got a month or two left of it! AH!!!!
Autumn in Connecticut is beautiful. But I'm not ready for autumnal weather yet. Don't get me wrong, I love layering, but not.yet. Right now, though, it's rainy and miserable.
It's funny here at the Jersey Shore. It's packed because it's Labor Day Weekend, but no one is doing the normal activities. The diners are packed. The video stores are packed. The ice cream places and boardwalks are empty. It was perfect fall napping weather today.

It's hotter than, er, well, you know where here in the Tampa area. I'm a transplant from Maine, and I will miss the fall foliage this time of year.
It's very hot here...although this morning it was about 67 degrees...but it was up in the 90's today, and the other day it was 100.
Quel dommage, Alfred!
I love living in NY. We get a little bit of each season and we all look forward to the coming season. Like in May we were so ready for the heat and beach, now we're looking forward to going apple picking out east, well at least the elderly are.
Hey, WickedGeek! I resemble that remark...no apples on the Upper West Side, though. (Well, a few rotten ones, perhaps...)
Ella is singing to Tanny right now.
