I saw the 2001 production three times and thought the audience participation was the perfect amount. I don't really enjoy midnight showings of the movie because some of them get so over the top you can't hear anything over the audience members, but found that people mainly stuck to just the most popular callbacks at the Broadway production.

I am genuinely surprised by the praise for Christine Sherrill's Donna because I was cringing throughout almost all of her performance. She sounded like she was doing some sort of Guns n Roses impression for most of the show. Was she sick or something when I saw her?

No doubt they are shady. However they poured about $100mil into this project and managed to drag Sleep No More through countless "final extensions," so it's interesting that they closed overnight with zero notice. Staff was apparently informed 1-hour prior to the ticketholder cancellation emails, and they've since scrubbed all of their social media presence.

I've left two shows at intermission: Spongebob and the Spamalot revival. Guess I should just avoid any shows featuring Ethan Slater in the future..

I have tickets for mid-May and received the below email this morning. I wonder what happened? This is very abrupt and clearly unplanned. Saw it tonight. Sarah Snook is a revelation. And I know this praise has been very rightfully heaped on her already but it bears repeating: How the F*** does she do that 8 times a week?!

I imagine they backed up the Brinks truck for this. Also I can't help chuckling at some of the comments online saying that him returning is a recession indicator.

I loved both Dead Outlaw and Maybe Happy Ending and would be thrilled if either won Best Musical. I'm honestly just all for well-executed and original musicals being recognized and rewarded.

Show remains in great shape which isn't surprising. I was once again struck by how talented the cast and band are. Absolutely one of my favorite new musicals in years. It's just a joy from start to finish. Everyone around me on line to get in, as well as those near me in the audience, had never seen the show before. I've said my piece on Nick plenty already (tl;dr yikes), but I am not connecting with Adrienne's performance from all of the clips I've seen thus far either. She's singing purely and loudly, and I am not arguing at all that she's a talented singer, but I'm not getting any hint of genuine emotions behind all of that. I don't believe any of the words she's singing. Neither of them are working for me.

Friend of mine was front row at the invited dress last night and said the person a couple seats over from him was asleep for most of the show.

Typing on my phone while thoughts and show are still fresh. Plenty more things to say but for now some broad strokes. I had a lot of fun tonight. I have never been to a show where the audience was more on its side. Really, really loving and supportive crowd. Pre-show speech let us know that 1) their tech rehearsals have been fraught and they'd never done the show fully without any stoppages 2) the intermission would likely run very long and 3) an understudy would be making her Broadway debut ...
