If a child is running amok and the parents are doing nothing in a confined public space, like an airplane cabin,a stranger yelling at the child is justified. Sometimes it does take a village. How else will the little darling learn how their actions are effecting people? How are they to learn proper public behavior?
I also know that some people have potty mouths, myself included. Sometimes the "F' bomb gets dropped unintentionally. Specially if upset.
I was not on the plane, I do not know how over board Ivana went. I do think however that the parents should have been asked to deplane and get their child under control.


eta: a crying infant is a different thing all together and one should cut the parents slack. A plane can be a scary place for a little one.

In my experience, a sense of entitlement is passed from parent to child.

It also occurs to me that if a toddler is particularly upset at the f-word it must be because s/he has heard it before at home.

Paul Lynde was in a plane. There was an unruly child running up and down the aisle. Paul allegedly having had enough turned to the child's parents and said; "If you don't stifle that child I am going to F*** her!"

I don't think being sworn at as a child will cause much damage. I think however that having a raving woman with dyed blond hair and loads of plastic surgery in my face might give me nightmares for a while. The F bomb though.... not so much.

From that article it's hard to tell what really happened. If the flight was out on the tarmac, the kids wouldn't have been "running up and down the aisles". They would have been strapped in. My impression was that they were - in her impression - unruly while going down the aisle to their seats.

Anyway, I've NEVER been on a flight where kids were running up and down the aisles. And yelling at a little baby is ridiculous.

Talk about entitled.......it sounds to me like that is Ms. Trump's problem as well.

Stock, I agree that screaming at a baby is dumb.

But your assumption is that it never happened at all? The article (and not quoting Ivana), says that "several excited youngsters ran up and down the first-class aisle."

I guess I just misread it. I'm not saying it never happened at all. Just that I don't get why they were allowed out of their seats by the flight staff if they were out on the tarmac. Aren't you required to be strapped in right before take off?

All I was saying is that for me personally, I've never been on a flight where kids are running up and down the aisles. Not that it's never happened, I'm sure. Yes, the parents should make the kids get in their seats, but the flight staff should be enforcing it as well.
