I can't wait for Jennifer Holliday to start complaining that Ms. Hudson is taking all of her work.....

But regardless.. that happens not to be true. She is getting the same thing Amber is getting paid which is not a lot. But she gets to use the time to try out 3 of her new songs and sing all the dreamgirls stuff.

Long Beach puts on a fun parade, and they always make the effort to be in other cities parades......my sister lives there, if we didn't have prior plans, I'd go

Yes, it was VERY crowded, it was ridiculous. Miss Hudson was fantastic of course, even though her set was rather short. She sang the Dreamgirls reprise, Love You I Do, then a song that I didn't know, One Night Only, And I Am Telling You, then she did an encore with I Am Changing, and then brought some couple from the audience up on the stage and sang I Love You I Do again with this couple singing, and then Shout for some reason. Overall, it was a good time. It was very cool to hear her sing pretty much all her big numbers from Dreamgirls live.

Dame spent the night in Long Beach so hasn't had a chance to report. La Hudson was amazing. She very humbly told the audience that she is aware she got to where she is thru ( in her words) a "back door". But that she plans on working hard and making herself worthy. She also said that she hopes to be back next years singing all new original material from her album. And whisk.. the two people she pulled on stage to sing with her where the winners of the evenings earlier Pride Idol competition.

She sang all the Dreamgirls songs.. some to a instrumental track and some to a accompanist. Her voice is flawless and sounds better in person.

Where were you then? Because I thought the sound system was excellent. We were first row of the bleachers. I am re-watching some of it right now. Wasn't it amazing the sight of thousands of video cameras and phones ? I got a great pic of that.

And yes.. it was way to crowded. the fire marshal was about to close the whole thing up. ( So they say.. I think they would have had a bad riot in their hands)

I got to the main stage around 8:45, I was basically in the back area of the crowd that they asked to move so that the fire marshall would be happy. By the time everyone had shifted and moved me and my friend were in about the dead center of the crowd on the field. Thankfully I could hear her fine when she was singing, it was just when she was talking the crowd would be hootin and hollering so I could not hear much. I tried to hold my camera up in the air and get a picture but all I got was a bluish blur, lol. If you got any good pics I would love to see them.
