I did.
It was PAINFUL.
I spent most of the interview staring anywhere but at the screen: I could not bear watching Stewart DESTROY Cramer like he did. And Cramer was DESTROYED. There is nothing more painful - that I can remember - than Cramer arguing a point, and Stewart interrupting him with a direct video that cuts Cramer off at the knees.
This is what I love about Stewart: he's
smart. He knows enough of what's going on out there, and, if given the opportunity, he will NOT BACK DOWN. And because the show is, generally, so goofy, the moments of seriousness hurt even more.
I don't see how Cramer is going to pull himself out of this.
PS. The only thing that irritated me: I think Stewart can be a little TOO passionate at times. I wish he'd let Cramer talk a little more.
PSS. One of my favorite serious moments on the show - besides Stewart's 9/11 speech - was his wrapup on Bush's final press conference:
BUSH: (from a clip) -but I know I gave it my all, and I did not sell my soul for the sake of popularity.
STEWART: (tense) You didn't need to. (pause) You sold ours.
