Same here Addy. I remember growing up with Jodie Foster - from her playing Becky Thatcher, being a Disney kid in Freaky Friday, then through her maturity and amazing adult film resume.
She was out to friends, but not to the general public per se.
And, I have to disagree with Yawper. To me, Foster is like a family friend, someone I have known forever. For her to come out publicly is just one more person to add on to the others showing that being gay is not some scary stereotype. It just is.
I dunno, even it is met with a "huh", that huh adds a level of familiarity to those still uncomfortable with embracing/accepting equality.
