JOHN KERRY:

What I find most stunning in all of this is that now five years after the real 9/11 – as if any fiction could somehow make more searing what each and every one of us lived with our own eyes and ears – is that we need less revisionism about the past and a hell of a lot more reality about what’s going on now. Right now.

Instead of the fiction written to excuse the invasion of Iraq by exploiting the 3,000 mothers and fathers, sons and daughters who were lost that day — they were attacked and killed not by Saddam Hussein but by Osama bin Laden – we need the truth.

Here’s a little truth: The President pretends Iraq is the central front on the war on terror. It is not now, and never has been. His disastrous decisions have made Iraq a fuel depot for terror – fanning the flames of conflict around the world.

The terrorists are not on the run. Worldwide, terrorist acts are at an all-time high, more than tripling between 2004 and 2005. Al Qaeda has spawned a vast and decentralized network operating in 65 countries, most of them joining since 9/11. The Taliban now controls entire portions of southern Afghanistan, and just across the border Pakistan is just one coup away from becoming a radical jihadist state with nuclear weapons. The Middle East is more unstable than it has been in decades. Hezbollah flags fly from rooftops in Shiia slums of Sadr City and Iran is rebuilding Southern Lebanon. We have an Iraqi Prime Minister sustained in power by our forces, who will not speak against the Hezbollah terrorists, who will not say that Israel has a right to exist, and who will not condemn the Iranian nuclear program, who will not even as a national leader support the national army over the Shiite militia. In other words, the Iraq government that the administration cites as the front-line force in the fight against terrorism won’t even take our side when we are fighting terrorists. No American soldier should be asked to stand up for an Iraqi government that won’t stand up for the values and interests that draw them into battle every day. Oh, and the 9/11 commission recently gave our government a failing grade on implementing intelligence reforms.

I love watching movies, but with the world looking the way it is right now I think this is a good time to stick with just the facts. After Iraq, we’ve all had enough fiction to last a lifetime.

Senator John Kerry

AL GORE:

By all accounts, “The Path to 9/11″ is riddled with inaccuracies and contains material that directly contradicts the factual findings of the 9/11 Commission. I am deeply concerned that ABC is considering going forward with their plans to broadcast this so-called docudrama. The lessons from the events leading up to that tragedy are too important to trivialize, and it would be fundamentally irresponsible to air such distortions.

And CONSERVATIVE blowhard Bill Bennett even spoke out AGAINST it:

BENNETT: Well, maybe having been a cabinet member you know you have some heightened concern about being quoted accurately and correctly. Look, “The Path to 9/11″ is strewn with a lot of problems and I think there were problems in the Clinton administration. But that’s no reason to falsify the record, falsify conversations by either the president or his leading people and you know it just shouldn’t happen.

Conservatives have to be consistent Soledad, when the Reagan’s that show about the Reagan’s, CBS show came out, had all sorts of distortions and misstatements. Conservatives went crazy and had it relegated somewhere, I don’t know, it never appeared on CBS. And so I think they should be consistent. And when ABC comes out and has conversations taking place among cabinet members on recent history, on matters that are still before us, I think they should correct those inaccuracies.

Where was this ballsy John Kerry during the presidential campaign, when the course of the country for the next four years was at stake?

Exactly! John Kerry (aka "Flipper") has changed his story so many times, even he and Tereasa can't keep it "straight."

I don't think it's a fixation.
I mean, it's a very simple step to take once you have all the facts.

During his Presidential debate with Dubya, Kerry said that we should not invade Iraq because Iraq didn't attack us. And a lot of what Kerry said during the debate about what Dubya would do if re-elected, has actually come true. Granted, he needed to be more "ballsy" during the debates, but still.

You know you're arguing a pretty weak line when even the ethically-challenged ethicist Bill "Daddy needs a new pair of shoes!" Bennett is speaking against it.

Maybe you should offer people gift cards if they go to your blahhhhg. Since driving traffic there seems to be such a goal for you.

You might find more of your key demo at Wal-Mart Online rather than BroadwayWorld.

All of the contrived hysteria in the last two days regarding the ABC made for television movie, The Path to 9-11 has its’ generations in the political philosophy of Bill Clinton. The highly orchestrated response of the Clinton spin machine wafted over the mainstream media like stale remnants of Hurricane Lewinsky. The unique ambiance replete with faux outrage that Clinton displays when he is caught in a lie (“I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky) made its’ reappearance right on cue. Clinton simply can not be trusted on any critical matter.

Clinton’s team made the war room famous in 1992 when they managed, against all odds, to win a plurality of the vote in a three way race dominated by the antics of Ross Perot. The shrill tone piercing through the media bubble this week indicates that the dramatic representation of the Clinton administration is more truthful, more detailed, and more complete than any previous account of Bill Clinton, his team, and Osama Bin Laden. By threatening the ABC network, and by dispatching every Clinton acolyte to shriek “foul” to all of the liberal media outlets, the movie is being altered to match the Clintonite, sanitized view of “The Path to 9-11.” This 9-10 mentality dominates most liberal thinking today, and truthful representations of the failures of the Clinton administration would be a virtual earthquake to the democrat party. It might also remind voters that liberals can not be trusted with national security.

It’s too bad that Dick Morris already penned his wonderful book “Rewriting History.” Perhaps Mr. Morris will now write a sequel. Madelaine Albright, Sandy Burgler, and other flunkies from the Clinton years were eerily omnipresent in their odious unison as they sang from that tarnished Clinton songbook of half-truths and detestable lies.

(For the "purists" who treat this board as if it were some serious literary endeavor, there is no need to search for the source of this material.)

i keep thinking...why not just air a dramatized reading of the actual 911 commission report, in a somber setting?

it could be like that benefit they did shortly after 9/11...i am sure many actors & musicians would want to be involved. just have them sit on a dark stage & read sections of the report aloud, it would be far more respectful & meaningful.

& informative!

i know many of us have read the actual report, but i think most of america has relied on whatevers filtered down from mainstream media & talk radio.

Are you delusional?

Had you not posted it, Namo would be unable to quote it.

"let the words speak."

You wrote them, why should you be ashamed or intimidated by your own words?
