Angelina Jolie says she and Brad Pitt, who have three children including a newborn daughter, are planning to adopt another child. "Next, we'll adopt," Jolie tells CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview to air Tuesday on "Anderson Cooper 360"
Jolie, 31, gave birth to daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Namibia last month. The couple have two older children, 16-month-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and 4-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia.
"We don't know which — which country. But we're looking at different countries," the actress tells Cooper. "And we're — I'm just — it's gonna be the balance of what would be best for Mad and for Z right now. It's, you know, another boy, another girl, which country, which race would fit best with the kids."
Both Maddox and Zahara's surnames have been legally changed to Jolie-Pitt after Pitt, 42, announced his intention to adopt the children.
The Jolie interview will air Tuesday as part of CNN's entire day of programming devoted to World Refugee Day.
...they're gonna be busy!
And they have the money for the nannies. I don't mean that in a mean way as it may sound... they have the means to take care of children in need, and it's nice to see them do so.
When children are wanted, that's a beautiful thing! Good for them!
If I had their kind of money I would do the same thing. My husband and I are already planning on adopting at least one child when we decide to start a family. We want to help a child find a good home.
Cheaper By The Dozen.
It's getting more and more Mia Farrow.
LOVE that av Undi!
I really respect them, they're some of the very few celebrities willing to give their time to worthy causes like that. They'll definitely be busy! Maddox will become such a divo with more little siblings to boss around.
:)
I think it's a beautiful idea. I just hope they can stay together. Sounds silly, but I want them to be a Hollywood success story. It seems that so many people want them to fail.
Undi, I know. I have two cousins who are adopted. Their parents thought that they couldn't have kids so they adopted a brother and a sister and the day that they signed the papers she found out she was pregnant. The kids all knew, but it was never a big deal. In fact I didn't find out until I was about 13. Their parents were very open with them and answered all of their questions when they arose. It was a very positive thing and something that I hope to be able to do one day.

wow, so soon after the baby? I think it's wonderful that they adopt, but one of my best friends is adopted and he said that it bothers him a bit that America is obsessed with Siloh and "Mad and Z" were never fawened over or given nearly as much attention from the media and America.
I tend to think it's not that Shiloh is American wheras Angelina's other children are not or that they were adopted and she's actually Angelina's biological child that garners the attention, but the sheer fact that this child is the offspring of two of the world's biggest celebrities. The older kids, when they were adopted, were just Angelina's kids, not the kids of Angelina Jolie *and* Brad Pitt. And hey, the more the merrier; two celebrities is way more exciting than one. It's about this fascination with the power couple.
i think it's nice in theory, but i hope they actually have enough time for their children, to have an actual family, not just nannies and such

I completely agree with emcee but would even take that further, to say that the decision to get pregnant & have a child on the part of a sex symbol is fascinating in itself it seems. Celebs will often adopt over having their own children to avoid the risk of losing their figure, or needing the time off, etc- so its rare. People had the same reaction to Britney having a kid, and Madonna... and the rags cant make up scandalous fabricated stories of postpartem depression unless its biological.

Has anyone noticed the photographs of Brad Pitt wearing a sportscoat that had sleeves coming down to his fingertips? With his money Mr. Pitt can surely afford better tailoring.
I hope he doesn't pass his shabby sartorial style onto the children he is raising.

Really?
I thought most celebs just had their babies like everyone else.
There is a very long list of celebs with adopted children. I didn't know Edie Falco adopted. http://celebrities.adoption.com/

Yeah, I'd be curious to know who's done that, too. I can't think of even one. Usually when an actor adopts, it's because either she's too old to biologically have a child, or, she's not in a relationship.
I hope they make time for their children, but I also hope they make time for each other. I'd hate for them to adopt more children together and then not be able to work on a long distance relationship while they are working in different cities, countries, whatever on their future movies. That would be the worst thing for the children.
good for them. i'm glad they're doing something good with their money instead of just blowing it on useless crap like alot of celebs do. helping people is always a good thing.
i plan on adopting some day... i have three adopted cousins (one from right around here, two from korea) and i definatly would love the opertunity to give a child a home.

Zahara is already jealous. LOL! :P
I saw this picture earlier today on www.pinkisthenewblog and it gave me a good laugh. Angelina said in her interview w/ Anderson Cooper that Zahara is a little jealous of Shiloh b/c she's still a little girl. I knew it!
Cracks Me Up!!!
You go, Zahara!
"Talk to the back of the head, babitch."
I can't be the only one a little disturbed by Angelina's remark that she is "looking into finding the right race for a new baby to fit in well with Mad and Z". Now that is paraphrased from what I saw on Anderson Cooper's interview, but, as my local DJ said yesterday....is she going for a "Cost Plus" appeal for her house here?
What is up with that comment? And this reminds me of the Josephine Baker story, with her rainbow family in Paris. I'm all for adoption, as I was adopted and can see the need, but the Brangelina situation seems a bit off.
"but the Brangelina situation seems a bit off."
There's an understatement.
