C'mon, that had to be one of the best episodes (from start to finish) of SNL in years.

Absolutely agree.
Hamm and Bubble might have been the funniest skit they've done in five years.
I also really liked the Sergio digital short, Hamm as Scott Brown, and calling back to the closet organizer at the end. Weekend Update was, as I have to admit it usually is, funny.
Weak spots: alien sportscaster was funny but done before. The Don't Ask Me to Sing skit (other than Hamm giving 100% to it) and the court reporter skit were painful. I don't understand why SNL seems to think having a character say the same thing over and over with a variety of twitches to accompany it is the epitome of comedy.
I hope they work on that court reporter character though, because that had me cracking up at first.
After a day in New York at the theater, I fell asleep halfway through SNL. I loved Jon Hamm in the sketches I saw - Don't Ask Me to Sing, Scott Brown and the Voodoo one. He was reallly funny! I used to like Kristen Wiig but her obnoxious characters are too overdone and are just annoying, not funny anymore.
It was the first episode in recent memory I watched from beginning to end & hardly any weak material
If only they were all like this.
DAMN was this good! SERGIO to Scott Borwn (Flapper Girl! LOL!) to the Hamm/Buble musical commercial - BEST of the season! Hamm is SUCH a natural - get him on stage! So delighted this was so wonderful, it really brought back memories of the best SNL's from my youth (Farley/Sandler/Myers)! PLUS Weekend Update was on FIRE! Go Seth!
OMG and the blue creature in the closet was one of the funniest commercials they've had in a long time! When they threw the slab of peanut butter and the dirt at it I really started to lose it! LOL!

Jon Hamm is two for two now. Both episodes he hosted were great. Loved Sergio!
..and I love Snookie. Too funny!
I agree with Clever. The Don Draper Guide his first time hosting was amazing. But he was way more fearless this time around with the Sergio digital short alone. Also I love when the musical guests break into the skits and are actually funny. Michael Buble was definitely one of those musical guests.
Thought Buble did a fine job of comedic acting in the Hamm and Buble sketch!
I have to agree that I find Kristen's characters quite tiresome. Repeat a line over and over and twitch is what each of them do. She does have some political pull on the show though.
Bobby ROCKS as Snookie! " I'm orange, leathery and get passed around by sweaty dudes!"

Roxy, it's always been clear you don't watch the whole episodes you declare to be awful.
Referencing back to the closet organizer at the end was brilliant. I loved this episode.
Yes, Michelle, I agree. They have tried referencing skits like that before but they always seem to get cut before air. Once with the Sam Waterson Mutual Robot Insurance sketch (which aired) they ending a later skit in the show by having the robot break through a wall and grabbing someone. It was brilliant but it was cut. Hopefully they will do more of that now.
"Don't Ask Me To Sing" was overdone because of the writing and the monotony, not Kristin's work. She gives unstintingly, but even she cannot sustain material that is one joke and twice as long as it need be. I still find her fearless.

I've only seen up through Weekend Update, will watch the rest later. I liked it fine, so far. The lambasting of Martha Coakley in the opening was fantastic and probably made her cry. The Scott Brown sketch was great, and the digital short descendant of Chris Kattan's Mango was fun. What I've seen is much better than the first time Jon Hamm hosted, I know that's heresy but I only thought he was so-so the first time.*
*please note that assessment was made based on watching the entire episode, not 10 minutes of it and then reaching a verdict and turning the show off like SOME people around here do
