That was the classiest thing I have ever seen on the Oscars: bringing out Marketa to deliver her speech, which was the best of the night thus far.
That was adorable.
I love him.

Very sweet of him. And she gave a lovely (short) speech.
That was so nice of him. I love him.
Another reason why he is on my celebrity "list", its laminated

He's so great. <3
Who's Marketa?
One of the Best Song winners for "Falling Slowly" from Once.
It was a totally fantastic thing to do.
Yeah, I felt bad when she stepped up to speak and the music started. Unfortunately, I only caught the very end of her speech. I left the room during the commercial break and returned just as the damn music started again after her apparently lovely speech.
I was so happy for both her and Glen Hansard. They are so sweet together.

Thanks, scott. That was lovely. Now I'm gonna search for Marion Cotillard's. I did see hers, but I wanna see it again.
Marion's dress was right out of The Little Mermaid.
Doesn't this now make her the second actress to win a Best Actress Oscar in a foreign language film, Sophia Loren being the first for TWO WOMEN?
SM2---Yes, Marion is the second in 80 years. Sophia was the first. Roberto Benini is the only Best Actor winner from a foreign language film, but "technically" there is a fourth foreign language performance that has won, even if it's not from a foreign language film: Robert De Niro in "The Godfather Part II" for Best Supporting Actor. His entire performance was in Italian.
Some people go as far as to include Marlee Matlin who "signed" her Oscar-winning performance from Children of a Lesser God. I put that in a category all by itself, because it wasn't a foreign language. It was sign language, and she was signing in English.
