Id forgotten that Ken Berry had made these commercials. I used to love to watch him on the old TV shows in the 60's - hoping that I'd get to see him sing and dance. I remember one really old one - The Ann Southern show - where he played the dancing bell hop. My biggest argument with the series he's done (and I'm thinking about F Troop, Mayberry, and Mama's Family now) is that you rarely (if ever) got to see him sing and dance.

You got to see him do the song-and-dance thing on Carol's show - and they were 'highlight' moments for me.
And F-Troop was OK - at least he was in a uniform!

Lots of short sleeves on Mayberry, RFD. Hairy bod, bulgy muscles.
I'd wouldn't have minded seeing him with nothing but a dancebelt and a tube of Chapstik, basically.

Those commercials are really awesome. As was Ken. I can't believe he was in his forties then. Thanks for posting these, PalJoey!

Are those eyes Puppy Dog or Bedroom?
Hmmmm -- Puppy dog or Bedroom? Hard to tell. Why not a bit of both?
I agree. A little of both. The man is gorgeous.

How fortuitous that you found the Broadway World Off-Topic board, then.
God! When I saw this posting, I thought that you were going to tell us that he was dead...
No wonder Naomi was all over him in almost every episode of Mama's Family. Their scenes together still make me blush.
I recently watched the final episode of the Andy Griffith Show (called "Mayberry RFD") that introduced Ken Berry for the spin-off series.
Damn he was cute. Great arms too.
The opening credits of Mayberry RFD are enough to get me going...arms indeed! Playing "catch"!
I have had a crush on him since I was about 4.
There's one shirtless scene I remember from F Troop, but it's on the Carol Burnett that he danced in a tennis outfit (in the 70s that meant TIGHT shorts....OH BOY!
Ah, the 70s. A hunk stitched into avacado or tangerine, at the time the new black.
Bring on the star of WILD WILD WEST? I always confuse his name, one conrad was a fat cop, one the definitive cowboy/slash dude. He was sewn into his costumes.
Sorry, his arms arent show in this.
I think the instructions are in the faqs section of this site.
For those who didn't know that he and Wrangler Jane were into role-reversal:

Thanks for the help. Those FAQs are hard to find ... lol. Okay, here are two photos of Ken Berry as Sam Jones that I hope show off his arms a bit.
Hope this works.

Age can be SUCH a buzz-killer...but it's better than the alternative!

KBFan - believe me, the pics worked - VERY well! Thanks :-0
And, re Madbrian's linked pic - WHAT is he doing with his left hand?!?!?

"That said, the man still looks just fine to me."
Uptown - I agree
And I like the comment about different types of photographs - it's OH so true!
Hi DG! Glad you like the photos! As for what Ken is doing in the black and white photo from the link Madbrian gave us ... it's from an F Troop episode called "The Day the Indians Won" and he is wearing gloves and has just tried to get off his horse when Wrangler Jane rides up and intercepts him.
He ends up on her horse with her and is jammed up against the saddlehorn ... so he is very uncomfortable with his hands sort of pinned behind his back.
As for what he's holding in his hand, I think it's just his glove.

Looks like Janie has him right where she wants him. I've included some screencaps from that scene so you can see what happened here:
Agreed. Ken has aged very well and is still a very handsome man in my opinion.
