Has anyone here ever had a keratin treatment? Were you impressed?

I received a treatment package as a prize from the View about two years ago. I couldn't give it away. It was very expensive, but I think if not done properly can wreck havic on your hair. Nobody wanted it.

Are you a chick or a guy? I went to a new salon today, and had a fantastic cut, color and keratin (for the first time). I'm not familiar with it at all, but my hair was very damaged, and the hairdresser suggested it. I think they called it the Brazilian treatment. Anyway, my hair seems like silk right now. I'm not supposed to wash it until 2 or 3 days. Let's hope nothing bad happens. The guy seemed to know what he was doing, and I got a giant discount on it, too. First time customer discount.

I'm a guy. I asked all the chicks I knew, if they wanted it, no takers. It was also the Brazilian treatment. It was a do it yourselfer. It was well over $100.

I had it done at the salon. It looked great. But sitting through 2 hours of flat-ironing and then using special shampoo/conditioner, which hardly lathers, for 6 months is not my idea of fun. I will not do it again.

This guy was really fast with the flat iron. Also my hair is really thin, so it only took about 20 minutes. I'm kinda happy, although I probably wouldn't do it as a regular thing. Too expensive, and I have basically very
"Caucasian" type hair anyway, not too frizzy or wavy, and I kind of like to let it get wavy/frizzy in the summer. I find the non foaming shampoo way better, too. Ya just have to get used to the non suds. It doesn't strip the color.

My sister uses the Keratin treatment. She has very wavy, curly hair and this allows her to get a straight look without going the traditional relaxer route.

She's happy with it and I must say her hair looks great when she gets it done.
