"King Kong" to come out Christmas 2005

Is anyone else excited about this movie? I wonder what changes they've made to the script. With what Peter Jackson has done with the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy I can only expect good things from this movie. I love Naomi Watts and I hope she made a good decision in doing this movie. Anything is better than "The Ring 2."

It will be amazing because Peter Jackson is directing it, WETA's doing the special effects, and Andy Serkis is in it! Some of my favorite people of all time! lol
"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness. Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings. Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end. But end it does. Another part of you vanishes. That's show business."-Anonymous

Oh, I thought you meant the big gorilla was finally going to come out. His gal pal choices are so similar to CapnHook's ("hot" women, boobs), that it seems inevitable.

This AGAIN?!!!! Hollywood is so fvckin' unimaginative!!! All they do is remake, remake and remake. WTF is happening to originality?

I'm not impressed.

Peter Jackson's script has been online for years. It's pretty similar to the original, still a period piece. He does amp up the 'tragedy' of the ending a bit.

I am reminded of the remark made by Dino DiLaurentis, producer of the last remake (Jessica Lange/Charles Grodin/Jeff Bridges).

When asked by a reporter if he thought his movie would do better than the Jon Peters produced A STAR IS BORN, starring Streisand, being released the same week, DiLaurentis said, "They may have an advantage. Their monkey can sing!"

That horrible remake. 40 plus years after the original, and they give us a man in a monkey suit! I have higher hopes for this one; but I agree with Marquise, who needs another King Kong? The original is still great.
