That scene would have been interesting since Anne Hathaway was supposed to play the Katherine Heigl role but dropped out because she had problems with the "creative decisions" in the script.

Wow, she must be a real fag.
You know how I know she's gay? She was in Brokeback Mountain and dropped out of Knocked Up.

"dropped out because she had problems with the "creative decisions" in the script."
Ray - I'm curious about this. Where did this tidbit come from, and can you be any more specific?
DG, I'm not sure Hathaway has been open about why she dropped out of the film but here are the articles announcing her casting in the movie and then the article announcing Heigl's casting stating that Hathaway left due to "creative reasons."
Hathaway Swapped for Heigl

Thanks, Ray - I guess if we were supposed to know, we would!

OK, I haven't seen the movie (and I probably won't, unless I rent it down the line), but from the previews, I don't get why someone as gorgeous as Heigl (or Hathaway, for that matter) would ever have a one-night-stand with that schlubby looking guy. Is that ever explained? I mean, I know lots of beautiful girls who fall in love with average-looking guys because of their talent, sense of humor, etc. But a one-night-stand is usually a lust thing... So, what's the deal? I'm seriously curious. Thanks!

Erika - that was my first and immediate thought just from the POSTER!
Alcohol.
*****SPOILER WARNING***** (though come on, it's KNOCKED UP, not like the plot really matters but still)
Heigl's character gets a big promotion at work (E!TV), her sister takes her to celebrate, this guy gets both her and her sister drinks when she can't even get the bartender's attention. After a while, he goes up to her and kind of charms her, then they both get completely wasted and she takes him to her place to have sex. All the while, you're supposed to believe that while men only care about getting a hot girl, women only care about personality so as long as you charm them, you'll get them in bed *eye roll*

ray: LOL! Thanks for the "explanation," but yeah, that whole "women only care about personality" thing is a bit silly - particularly when we're talking about sex. (As opposed to love).
DG: Glad to know I'm not alone.
STP: No amount of alcohol would make that guy look beddable to me. At least not for a one-nighter.

The movie is hilariously fantastic. I admit I was quite surprised.
How about the fact that Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen were a step away from blowing each other?
Anyway, the earthquake was obviously meant to "unearth" the fact that he didn't read the baby books. And the gynecologist search went somewhere. They found one and he turned out to be worst of the lot.
Major props to Kristen Wiig who was hilarious and stole her scenes right out from under Tudyk.
I think all of the characters were extremely flawed - which was nice to see. Paul Rudd is a terrible person (loved when the pink eye boys shut him out), but at the same time you feel bad for him because his wife is a major bitch. Yet you also feel bad for her - the aging beauty (old as fvck). Then of course Rogen and Heigl had their own major flaws - yet you still root for them and for Rogen to change his ways.

That scene was in no way offensive. The bouncer was obviously being sarcastic and dished it right back to her. She proved that she was in fact the weaker of the two through her reaction of his dressing down of her.
But this movie was hilariously awesome. And erika, as a schlub myself, i'm somewhat offended by your post.

"the aging beauty (old as fvck)."
Dare I ask how old she is supposed to be?
BSO- I left the theater last night saying to my friend that Kristen Wiig was my favorite person in the whole movie. She is one of the few people on SNL who cracks me up all the time. The Target lady and the 2 A-holes are hysterical.
I cracked up so many times last night because of her.

I just realized...
The ENTIRE cast is made up of cult TV icons...
... well then Grey's Anatomy must have the hugest cult following of any cult TV show ever...
Yeah, Cruel, since when is SNL a cult TV show? And well, let's not even get started on GREY'S ANATOMY.
BSoBw, while I've already stated how I feel about this film, I must agree with you about Kristen Wiig, she absolutely stole every single scene she was on. My favorite was her first scene: "Yeah, I was surprised too" (hilarious).
Wiig was turned a small, potentially forgettable cameo role into one that was extremely memorable. She is one of my favorite new SNL cast members in a long time. She is definitely one to watch!

This movie was absolutely and unbelievably hilarious, but also had a real heart underneath it. It will go down as a classic.
It's miles better than Virgin because, be honest, Virgin tended to drag at times and some of the characters and subplots could have been cut out. Knocked Up, on the other hand, deserves its length.
That being said, movies in general lately are getting longer and longer. This trend needs to come to an end.

I would agree but some long movies can really sweep you up and immerse you. ZODIAC was definitely a movie like that.
David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE, clocking in at just under three hours, was one of the most immersive and incredible film experiences I've ever had.
I still want to see Zodiac.

Great great great movie. Possibly Fincher's best.

"It will go down as a classic."
There was a time when a statement like that would get somebody like you laughed outta film class.
