LOST and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ! Are their second seasons as good ???

Posted: 1/9/06 at 5:51amOk, I just wanted to hear your opinions. Being from Greece, I still haven't seen any second season episodes from my two favorite shows of last year ! I have avoided spoilers as much as I could and I can't wait till they begin ! I simply adored these shows (especially Housewives) so, WITHOUT MANY SPOILERS please, I would love to know if they continue to be as exciting and good this year, or if I am in for a dissapointment !

Posted: 1/9/06 at 6:09amNow, I only saw the first 3 or 4 episodes from each of the second seasons here before I was forced to leave the country (for shame!) so I don't know if they just didn't start well and then picked up or if they stayed lame, but I was very disappointed with what I saw of both shows. With Housewives, while I enjoyed the smaller storylines, the overall arc for the season, the big mystery was uninvolving, to say the least. And with Lost, there was just a whole lot of nothing going on.

Posted: 1/9/06 at 6:37amI find the current season of DH to be very disjointed. I'm also not too pleased that they just aired their first new episode last night since December 4th. What's up with that? At this point in time I can take it or leave it.

Posted: 1/9/06 at 7:05amThey went on a four or five week hiatus last February/March with the first season too.

In its second season, DH sucks. Alfre Woodard is miscast [too serious an actress] in a dull plot that brings the show to a halt.
There are also too many unresolved plot lines from Season 1, too many characters on the show, and Teri Hatcher's schtick has lost its charm. The only worthwhile people on the show are Felicity [get an Oscar, babe!] and Nicollette, the Kim Cattrall of the show.
The gay creator of the show should show some balls and have Marcia's gay son actually kiss on camera. Not a bad actor but his character is badly drawn.
My opinion of course.

Posted: 1/9/06 at 12:33pmI agree 'DH' is not quite as good, but still entertaining. 'Lost' is still very engrossing, and I think maintains the same quality.

I am in a distinct minority on this one, but to me LOST is better this year than last. (I prefer the character driven episodes.)
I have never seen DH.

Bree's son is f*cking cute.
I never liked LOST. I don't know if DH is better or worse this season than last, but I find myself watching this season more than I did last season.

A good amount of shows go into rerun mode during the holiday season.

Posted: 1/9/06 at 1:22pmThe second seasons didn't draw me in like Season 1 did. I still watch, but it's just not the same. Lost pretty much lost me, and DH seems to me to be trying too hard.

I only thing I kinda cared about in the first season of DH was the narrator. Who was she?
Now that I know I pretty much don't care. I watch for the eye candy.
(I actually forgot about it last night though. Oops. Anyone take their shirt off?)

Posted: 1/9/06 at 1:48pmUp until last night I thought the second season of DH has been horrible. Lame plot lines and a total waste of Alfre Woodard. Last night's episode showed some promise, with some of the old wit back and the houswives interacting together more. Hopefully it will get back on track.

Posted: 1/9/06 at 2:10pmThanks guys, keep them coming ! One more question about DH, are they still using a voiceover ? Because last year's Mary Alice voiceover was great in my opinion. I especially loved the end voiceover were she somehow wrapped up the episode connecting it to real life situations we have all faced !
