No one on that show could compare with the hotness of Ian Somerhalder. Stupid stupid Locke. I normally like him, but...why Boone?

These days, I go for Sawyer. I was very happy he was shirtless re: LOST season finale...here we go! (spoilers abound, I'm sure)

How many episodes did Michael appear in this year? 5? I guess that's enough to not make him a guest star, now that I think about it.

You're right then, the guy who plays Henry Gale ough to get one in that category.

I hope some of the men (Locke, Ecko, and Michael) are recognized with Supporting Actor nominations.

If Lost's only competition this year is The Sopranos, then worry not. The Sopranos has been so uneven this year. More often than not, it's been boring and meandering. Not one of their better years.

the problem is that Harold Perrineau was still credited as a regular cast member.

I got curious so I looked up the Emmy rules.

"Guest performers that have appeared in more than six episodes are not eligible in the guest performer categories."

Michael Emerson (Henry) has been in 9 episodes. (I think they split the season finale into 2 parts.)
Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) has been in 5 episodes, so he's eligible.
Any other guest stars? I can't think of anymore except maybe Rose or Bernard.

Do you think there is a specific reason that the writers killed off both Shannon and Boone? The Rutherford family was starting to connect with other members until they offed em...

>>Was that man in the car familiar? Should we know him from somewhere?

Yes, he's the actor who played Caleb Nicol (who married Julie Cooper) on "The O.C." He's actually British or Australian or something.

Not sure about Boone, I think he was just an unfortunate plot twist. But Shannon was written off because (she thinks) she's heading for a (ahem) STELLAR movie career...

so Desmond could get the guest actor nomination and Fenry could get a supporting actor nom.

I don't think Michael Emerson is eligible for any awards. He wouldn't be supporting actor because he's not yet a member of the staring cast. Terry O'Quinn and Naveen Andrews would be Supporting Actor possibilities because they are members of the cast, while Emerson is still a Guest Star. Here's hoping a nom. for Michael next year though!re: LOST season finale...here we go! (spoilers abound, I'm sure)

Emmerson is not eligible for guest.

I never said he was. He can't be nominated as a Supporting Actor because he is not part of the cast. He is still a guest star, even though he can't be nominated as a guest star. Before every episode he was in, he was listed under GUEST STAR. He would need to be listed under STARRING if he could be nominated for lead/supporting actor.

"I never said he was. He can't be nominated as a Supporting Actor because he is not part of the cast. He is still a guest star, even though he can't be nominated as a guest star."

Stockard Channing won an Emmy for The West Wing as Supporting Actress. She was nominated for about five more. She was not listed as a regular until after she won her first Emmy. Even though she was billed a "guest star", she still won the Emmy for Supporting Actress. The same thing happened with Holland Taylor and The Practice.

The Emmys are only marginally more consistent then the Tonys when it comes to this kind of thing.

I don't remember from last year, but do you think individual actors from the show will get nominated for emmy's? I figured it would be like, best ensemble, which I know they won last year (if not at the emmy's then somewhere else).

Last year Terry O'Quinn (Locke) & Naveen Andrews (Sayid) were both nominated for Best Supporting Actor. I doubt anyone will be nominated this year. I think they'll win Best Drama Series, but no acting noms. tvguide.com just came out with their predictions for the Emmy's, and they mentioned nobody from this show.

If they get any acting nominations, it will be in Best Supporting Actor. The show's only leading actor, Matthew Fox (Jack), certainly won't get one. They only have two female characters with significant screen time, and neither one of them got enough "juicy" material to be nominated. It's the supporting men- Terry O'Quinn, Harold Perrineau, and Michael Emerson who stand the best chance of a nomination.

The show won Best Ensemble at the SAG awards. I think they're a shoo-in for Best Drama Series at the Emmys this year.

I agree that they're a shoo-in, and that the only chance they have at Acting Noms. are Best Supporting Actor. I do think, though, that in addition to the three your named, Adewale (Eko) has a chance at a nom. as well. "The 23rd Psalm" was my favorite episode this season, and I think that he's a tremendous actor.

It's a shame that the actresses, aside from Lilly & Rodriguez, didn't get much screen time this season. I really wish they would give Emilie de Ravin & Yunjin Kim more, and apparently Libby will be used in other people's flashbacks next season.

We'll also get three new main characters who were on the plane. Two females and a male. Apparently they were on the plane and have been with the other survivors, and they will take more of a leadership role with Kate, Jack, and Sawyer gone.

I think they're a shoo-in for Best Emsemble at the SAGs again. You can't beat this team of actors. Not for this show.

Where did you hear it was two females and a male? According to the people on the Lost fanboards (a truly crazy group of people), it was two males and a female. Speculation was that it was going to be Rose, Bernard, and Henry Gale.

Either way, I really hope Rose and Bernard become regulars. They seem like very interesting characters.

That's all of us LOST fans in a nutshell. I've never been this intense with a TV show other than maybe X-Files or AI.
I like Rose and Bernard as well. They have a cute and interesting relationship. And if anyone digs up info on if Desmond will return, please post. I hope he didn't die.

"I just received some exclusive intel on the new characters joining Lost. In addition to the two female roles, the show is also adding a new hunk. Descriptions are: Female, 30s, with leadership qualities. Female, early 20s, very attractive. Male, Latino, early 20s, handsome, mysterious quality. My guess? These are some of the "background" survivors that Carlton Cuse told me would emerge next season." Source: The Ausiello Report

That's from tvguide.com

Michael Emerson has been confirmed as a Series Regular next year. From what I've read, they could make L. Scott Caldwell & Sam Anderson regulars as well. I haven't read anything about Desmond or anybody else on the island. (Rousseau, Alex, Mr. Friendly, etc.)
