re: musicals that waste a good source material

I agree with Lennon, the Cirque du Soleil "Love" in Vegas sounds much more interesting.

re: Guys & Dolls Movie?

Sky = Hugh
Sarah = Julia Roberts
Nathan = Kevin Spacey
Adelaide = Nicole Kidman

re: Rate the musical above you.

Mack & Mabel

re: If you could re-open any show, which one would it be?

Side Show
re: Carol Channing in the National Tour of SUGAR BABIES

Would this show work without a "name" actor like Channing or Miller or Morris or Morse or Rooney? It is a funny CD but would it work otherwise?
re: Broadway song/Showtune that Best Describes you

"Lucy and Jessie" or "Uptown, Downtown" from "Follies"
re: DRS Money Cannon axed?

i saw it Friday night (5/19) and the cast just threw the money.
re: Xanadu

right now it's just a reading, but HELL YEAH! this is gonna be the best show ever!!!!

what other show has an 80's roller ballet as it's finale?

c'mon!

re: Best Actress in a Musical: The diva award

Is there anyway we could give a retro-active Tony to Bernadette for 2003 when that bizatch Winokur stole it from her?
re: The Wedding Singer on the Today Show, June 8

Wait, won't "Wedding Singer" be closed by June 8th?
re: Marissa Jaret Winokur originally to have Tracy Ullman's part in Disney'

And Winokur should NOT have that Tony, Bernadette Peters' Rose was much more deserving of the award.

UGH!

re: The Wedding Singer must go

Wow, I am shocked that Laura Benati is only 26 or 27 - I always thought she was in her late 30s, especially after seeing her on "Starved" (which by the way was a BRILLIANT show).
Tony Awards & short runs - a question

I am showing my Broadway ignorance with this question, but here goes.

Now that "Lestat" has announced closing on 5-28, giving them a total of 39 performances, I was wondering if any other shows have had similarly short runs and been nominated for Tony Awards?

The only show that springs to mind when I say "short run" is "Anyone Can Whistle" and they received a nomination for choreography only (which I don't understand - I love this score!)

Any thoughts?

re: The Wedding Singer must go

no tiny-toon, i just meant that i've heard other people's thoughts and i've shared mine and there isnt going to be one definitive answer so my part of this discussion is completed, thats all i meant.
re: The Wedding Singer must go

okay, thanks for the alternate opinions. but im sticking by mine.

discussion over for me.

re: The Wedding Singer must go

i'm 31 and got most of the 80's humor - LOVED Felicia's first song and the wind machine...
re: The Wedding Singer must go

changed
re: The Wedding Singer must go

okay i guess saying this show needs to close is just my personal opinion busting out, a more accurate statement would be why are people still going to see this show? it's horribly average and unappealing.
re: The Wedding Singer must go

sorry i have an opinion, but i do - and this opinion actually has a basis since i've seen the show.

i was glad to put all my thoughts on the survey they gave out at the beginning of the show.

i guess i was just disappointed and was expecting something more than what i got.

obviously there are opinions that differ from mine, otherwise why would the house have been full?

but mine is mine and yours is yours.

re: The Wedding Singer must go

i don't have a show, im a theatre goer and i was REALLY pissed to be spending that kind of money for something so pathetically pedestrian and horribly average.
