so......now that we've had him 5 days, here's what we know.

He IS in charge. If HE is not involved, it doesn't happen. Yesterday while Steve was putting the Xmas lights on the inside of the windows, HE jumps up, grabs a bulb and runs off......apparently several times, as we found his cache of bulbs later.

When I clean his litter box, he is RIGHT THERE observing, making sure I do it right. It is SO bizarre as I know that's what he is doing.

We have mirrored closet doors at the end of a long hall, and starting about day two every now and then we'd hear a THUD......and finally realized he was attacking himself. He'll run down the hall, stop, and jump at his reflection.

HE has taken to staring at the fireplace......and I don't mean when it's on. He just gets up within 2 inches of the glass doors and stares.

HE finds anything I hide. And HE shows it by running down the hall with whatever I have hidden from him.

HE is crazy, and we love him. I'll have better pix up later.

I bet he sees himself in those glass doors and that's what he's staring at. What a joy for you! It sounds like you were all meant to be together.

What a wonderful holiday gift for you and Steve.

It sounds like The Pea picked out a good one for you!

Elph, my cat supervises the litter box cleaining too. He likes to poop in a brand new clean box--so he watches us clean it then as soon as we pour in fresh litter jumps in-- sometimes while we're still pouring. He's a lil poop machine and seems vey proud of dirtying the clean box.

Isn't it amazing how much personality one cat can have? People who dismiss cats as cold and boring don't know what they are missing!

I don't know if they're supervising as much as interested and curious - I had a Littermaid and my cat was fascinated and would always watch it work.

it's very bizarre Deb, as I have accidently called him Sweetpea a couple of times, and I keep comparing the two of them. I've realized they are both nuts, just in different ways.

Joe, personality is what it's about. Truly I have never had a bossy/in charge cat. It is a major change.......there are times when I realize I'd better get out of the way, or I'm in trouble, lol

Men, cats, they are all kind of nuts, in a different way.

Buy him some Kitty Kaviar, and he will be putty in your hands! (which, had I known he was taking you home I would have included in the cookies, but it seems the cookies were mailed and the decision made at about the same time!).

It's so good to hear your lil boy is adjusting to well!!!! I can't wait to see new pictures!

My Pebbles is the same way with the litter box. As soon as it's scooped out, she's back in. She's the smallest little dainty cat, and yet she can stink up the house worse than any male I know!!

Funny, Stoli is the same way - he wants to prove it is his damn litter box - sometimes he barely lets me get the lid on before he gets is rump back in there to do his business!

Paige is the same way! Before I get the lid back on, he's in the BoodaDome!

had I known he was taking you home I would have included in the cookies

Don't believe this hype, Scott. She told me the same thing.... re: Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce

I was in a freaking baking and then boxing frenzy!

Now I have about 4 extra cans of kitty kaviar that are just sitting with nowhere to go but down Stoli and Zorra's greedy throats!

Shaved Bonita anyone?

oh boy......this cat is much more intelligent than any cat I've had.

I hear Steve saying no, several times. Apparently Fenwyck waltzes into his office, to the bookcase, grabs Steve's dream-catcher, runs down the hall to the family room where Steve is having lunch to show him he's got it, then runs to the guest bedroom and goes under the bed with it.
He comes out, Steve gets the dream catcher, hides it in his office and within 6 minutes the entire scene is repeated.
After a total of three times Steve says he REALLY hides the dreamcatcher (it's the feathers the cat loves) and goes to work.

I hear a thud maybe half an hour ago, and the cat has found it, and is running down the hall.
I hide it, and another thud and the cat is taking off with just a feather.

I've now shut the door to his office.

This cat is damn smart.

(Deb makes the biggest cookies I have ever seen, but GOOD!!!)

oh my God Erika, that's perfect...."fantastically bizarre"

we've learned that if a feather is in the house, he'll find it....that's his fetish. He is, although, terrified of dental floss, which was the one thing Sweetpea WOULD play with......
