Rented The Fan with Bacall, James Garner and Maureen Stapleton this weekend. Of course, it's not a great movie, but I thought it had moments. It was fun to see Lauren and Maureen work together. And it had several frightening moments. I didn't find it as awful as I had heard.
I love this movie!
It's one of those gems that I would never have seen had it not been someone on this board mentioning it (thanks Borstalboy!)
And bonus: Marvin Hamlisch and Tim Rice wrote her two songs for the movie
I Need Heart, Not Diamonds
Not a great film, but, damn, Michael Biehn was pretty!

C'mon, The Fan is so ghastly that it is good fun. Brilliantly bad in so many ways. Its the kind of movie you build a party around: A Bad Movie Party.
And in addition to the aforesaid Mr. Biehn, there is Kurt (born Bobby) Johnson so beautiful in a Speedo and dead of aids in the plague. Genuinely a nice man.
Unlike Jom Colyer.

Many people would agree when it comes to Miss Bacall.
It had a great cast! Maureen Stapleton and Hector Elizondo and James Garner were in the film. Kurt Peterson too!
I had several friends in the cast. Justin Ross, who was in the film of A Chorus Line, and Reed Jones, who orgiinated the part of Skimbleshanks in the Broadway cast of Cats, were both in the movie with her.
Reed, on the right, played the choreographer.
Reed also was one of the Jet boys in the revival of West Side Story with Debbie Allen and Josie De Guzman.
