Law & Order: SVU question...

I very rarely watch new episodes on NBC, I usually just watch the repeats on USA but recently have been tuning into the new ones; while watching them I noticed Stephanie March returned as A.D.A Alex Cabot and Diane Neal exited the show as A.D.A Casey Novak... can anyone tell me when this change happened? Thanks.

She's in this season for a minimum of ten episodes. I'm hoping she returns full time because she's one of my favorite TV characters!

She came out of witness protection when she testified against "The Ghost" The guy who killed that little kid's family.

ADA Cabot did go back into witness protection after she testified, but the head guy of the Colombian drug cartel killed himself in prison. Cabot came back for a few episodes last season and they went through this in, like, 10 seconds. I was hoping that they would address how Cabot dealt with life in witness protection or what it's like to be back in NYC, but so far, nothing. Come on! We need SOME explanation!

Please- Alex Cabot was already out of witness protection three years ago for the short lived series Conviction. If they couldn't explain her being out to be *there,* I'm not counting on the SVU powers that be ever fully explaining anything witness protection.

(Besides which, Alex Cabot > Casey Novak, so I am totally ok with it :))

Oh, how could I have forgotten about "Conviction"? Such confusion with Cabot being out there too!!

and re: Southerlyn being gay, I know, so random, but it was also random when Dr Huang said last week that he was gay. I mean, I know BD is in real life, but I don't know why Huang told everyone his sexuality after being on the show for almost 7 years.

Alex is by far my favorite ADA. I can't stand the woman they have right now, her tone is the same in every situation!

I watched an episode on USA and what do you know? It was a repeat of the first episode where Alex returns! Her attempted murderer died and his accomplice got expedited to Ireland so she was released from witness protection, three years after her release McCoy called her in for a case...

tagiunagi, yeah that was.... odd. the first time there's ever been any talk about huang's personal life. i wonder if this means he's going to be a bigger part of the show now... he deffinatly had a stronger role in this week's episode.

it also seemed like he was uncomfortable saying that line.

it's just weird tho... like, we know EVERYTHING we'd ever need to know about elliott and olvia, we know fin has 2 sons, we even know munch has an ex-wife who's part of some conspiracy watchgroup.
up untill now, all we knew about huang was that he's a doctor who works for the FBI and he speaks chineese.
and now we know he's gay.
what else have you been hiding from us, dr. huang??
an illigitament child? a small, but growing collection of pez dispensers? an apartment full of cats? batman bed-sheets? a botox addiction? perhaps an account on a broadway message board with people who have nothing better to do that speculate about charecters on a fictional show?

(good lord i need to get some sleep. i don't recemend waking up at 6 am)
