Legal Question..?

Okay-so my best friend is 17 and my cousin is 24.

They obviously like each other and whatnot and I would love to see them hook up or date BUT-some people say that 17 in NY is illegal while others say 17 is the legal age.

Does anyone here know for sure?

Age of consent in New York is 17.
