All I have to say is, WTF man?
Famous singer Leona Lewis was punched by an unidentified man while she was signing copies of her autobiography, entitled "Dreams", at the Waterstone's Piccadilly Circus bookstore in London on Wednesday, October 14. Her spokesman told BBC that the 24-year-old beauty had been signing autographs for around 90 minutes when "a guy came up and punched her to the side of the head".

Posted: 10/15/09 at 7:29amWho writes an autobiography at the age of 24? ...this question is made even more puzzling by the fact that I've never even heard of this person.

In England, they do autobiographies differently.
John Barrowman just published his SECOND autobiography, apparently catching the reader up on everything that's happened to him since the first one, which was published last year.

Drew Barrymore wrote her autobiography (LITTLE GIRL LOST) at just 16.
In the case of Drew Barrymore, she had lived through more in those 16 years than most of us experience in a lifetime.
And tazber--I actually have the new 2nd John Barrowman biography. I hate to admit it, but I'm THAT kind of fan.

OK, I'm confused. Did the guy come back and shake her after he punched her or was she "Punched" by one guy and then "Badly shaken" by someone else afterward?
And Leona, if you have to be described as a "Famous" singer, you aren't really.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 11:32amDidn't LeAnn Rimes also write her autobiography back in '98/'99, when she was still in her mid-teens? I vaguely recall something about that and thinking, "What the hell does she have to write about?"

Posted: 10/15/09 at 11:35amI'd say Leona Lewis is pretty famous--especially to teens and people in their early twenties--almost everyone knows "Bleeding Love".

Posted: 10/15/09 at 11:45amWell, by the age of 14, LeeAnn was already singing with great authority on love, loss and relationships. Apparently, she had much to say.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 12:19pmConsidering her life story thus far, I suppose getting hit upside the head is enough material for a follow-up book.

As horrible as that must have been - assuming it happened as specified, it still strikes me as a publicity stunt.
Simon Cowell knows exactly how to drum up press for his little investments.

God, I can't stand Bleeding Love. I hate singers that put unnecessary runs all through the song (do you hear me Mariah Carey?).
And I don't think she's a beauty at all....I sort of think she looks like a man.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 1:50pmIt's called "melisma" stockard, and I hate it too. It's overused and abused in pop music to the point that some singers actually loose the melody.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 1:58pmI feel like they're trying to make themselves sound like better singers than they are. Have you ever heard Howard Stern imitate it? I hate him, but it's actually pretty funny.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 1:59pmLeAnn was singing about wanting to have her breakfast with pink champagne at 15. Of course, now that she's busted up her marriage to her very gay hubby and the one of her boyfriend, it could be a page turner.

Posted: 10/15/09 at 2:02pmChristina Aguilera is very guilty of that, which is the sole reason why I can't stand to listen to her music. I remember several years ago, I was in a store and they were playing "Jingle Bells" from her Christmas album. Had it not been for the words, I wouldn't have recognized the song.

I was suddenly reminded of a MadTV skit where they poked fun at Whitney and her incessant runs/riffs/trills. I was able to find it on YouTube:

How upsetting! I used to punch my co-workers at my old bookshop, and I never made the news.
Perhaps because I did it with love...?
