Hi. If you want to call me a ‘newbie’ go ahead. If you want to throw stones at my head, go ahead.! Do whatever you choose because honestly the hostility here is impossible to be settled. Yes, there are other thread about this; I know. To make this clear, I would like to introduce myself as a ‘reincarnation’ of a former member who has been hurt to many times that decided to leave the boards. With that, I will not be identifying myself. I am going to be open and honest. Do I think this thread is going to settle anything or make anyone act nicer? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Is it worth trying? Probably not but oh-well. Am I going to get attacked for it? Most definitely. Do I care? Nope!
People here on BWW are getting hurt right and left. People are knit picking right and left. Threads are getting deleted right and left. People who were friends are cutting each others throats. Is this ok? If you say yes, well, I suggest you get some help. This is the computer, sarcasm is often hard to read. There are numerous amount of ways to write something to get a point across. This includes being mean, rude, nasty, sarcastic and degrading. Are these appropriate ways to get points across? For some, I guess it’s a sense of superiority. Others may have their own reasons for this behavior. Whatever your reason for this behavior, does not make it right.
The computer (internet) is used for a various amounts of reasons including a use for information and/or correspondence. People often use this to an extreme level. Just because one is not face to face with another does not, in any way, shape or form give you the right to treat someone like an a$$hole. Just because one is incompetent about themselves does not give them any more or less of a right to degrade someone else. Just because someone doesn’t agree with what someone is saying doesn’t give them a right to attack them. There is something called “Agree to disagree” If you haven’t learned what that is, I suggest you do; It’s quite useful.
There isn’t a moment in time where everything is agreed upon. To make it simple: That’s why there is vanilla and chocolate. We must learn to accept how other people think and feel and take that into consideration. Nobody knows what others have gone through until they have walked in their shoes. Some people may be more verbal about their issues but that doesn’t mean that everyone doesn’t have their own. People have their bad days and good days. We all do, whether you choose to admit it or not.
People often come to this board to relax, and de-stress. But, when everything is being bickered upon, it makes it unpleasant. Nobody is forced to come to the board but I think *it can* be a great place. We all have a love for theatre and can share that. On the other hand, fixing everyone’s tiny spelling mistakes and incorrect English wording is just plainly petty. This board is not an English class. Again, this is a place where people come to relax, not to be attacked on little stupid things.
