"I'm sure the millions of dollars they get payed for a few months work make up for the inconvenience of being worshiped by people and followed by fans/press."

It might be worth it to you, but not to me. They are not always "worshiped". Many celebs are stalked and some are even attacked or murdered by those who make comments similar to those made by BroadwayGirlWicked. And the paparazzi is just as bad. I've seen them in action and they are some of the most relentless scum on the planet. Not to mention that the work does not end with the wrap-up. Then there are the endless promotions and interviews which can go on for several more months. It's a lot of travel and it is physically exhausting. Plus, Lohna has probably had to schedule school work during most of her projects.

EDIT: Had referenced the wrong poster.

Hopefully, she can run better than she can "act" or "sing"! Silly brat......

JbaraFan-

She's so beautiful in that picture. I think she still is. I certainly think she's a fine actress. I don't care what anyone else says, I also think she has a nice voice, and is being shot down for no reason.

"Hopefully, she can run better than she can "act" or "sing"! Silly brat......"

She's better than most performers her age. I'd rather watch her act or sing over Hilary Duff or Jessica Simpson. Loved Lindsay in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. Great movies and great performaces.

"her music ucks anyway..im glad its not gonna be included, im not gonna see the movie anyway so whatever."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was so immature, it sounds like a joke. Did you make a little "W" with your thumbs and forefingers when you typed that?

Honestly, what is up with people today?

im not crying for her or any other celebrity. they signed a contract with the devil so to speak. For the MILLIONS and millions of dollars they make there has to be a bad side to the business. No one should make that much money without there being downfalls.

And Im sure she ain't complaining too much. (Would she rather be a normal college student working a crappy part time job, worrying about finals, trying to save money to buy a car, rent apartment. OR jet set around the world, buy all the designer clothes she wants, be pampered by every kiss ass in the world, make MILLIONS, never worry about money? Hmmmm geez that's hard. Let me think about that one.)

There are drawbacks but they don't even begin to outweigh everything good that happens when you become a Hollywood movie star.

I for one can't stand it when celebrities complain. They can suck up or forfeit their millions.

I've never seen Mean Girls, but have seen her other stuff, her stuff is okay, it's just her public persona that I don't like.

However, saying that she's a better singer than Jessica Simpson is going to far. I don't listen to Jessica's music, but I know her voice is quality.

I like Parent Trap, it's fun if you don't think about it too much. I though Mean Girls wasn't as funny/great as people made it out to be.

Freaky Friday was good. (But that's also b/c of Jamie Lee Curtis.)

I'm not crying for her either. Nor am I making assumptions about how easy her life must be or how much money she makes.

"And Im sure she ain't complaining too much."

"There are drawbacks but they don't even begin to outweigh everything good that happens when you become a Hollywood movie star."

You sound like you speak from experience. Please enlighten me. The biggest drawback is having to live in LA. I'm not sure millions could make me do that.

Don't hurt yourself. Guess what? You can accomplish that without being a celebrity. I know people who have done it and THAT is something I wouldn't mind. But when you're a celebrity, you will be doing all those things with no privacy and with cameras documenting your every move for the sole purpose of ruining your career. Plus, if you decide to wuit the business or retire, you are immediately labeled a washout has-been. Watch Searching for Debra Winger for some more insight into the subject.

Lindsay, you have to learn a few lessons from Broadway Stars:

Carol Channing played over 5,000 performances in HELLO, DOLLY! and never missed a performance. That meant she went on with sprained ankles, broken arms, headaches and a slew of other maladies. She has never been hospitalized for "exhaustion".

David Burns, her co-star had one big song in the show. It closed Act One and it was called "A Penny In My Pocket". It was a clever song, but he didn't throw a hissy fit when it was cut and replaced with "Before The Parade Passes By". He knew what was best for the show and took the disappointment like a gentleman.

Lindsay, darling. These two stars will always be cherished by those who enjoyed their performances and by those who worked with them. I tend to doubt that any memories of you will be cherished. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone will ever consider you a "star". There's more to stardom than having your picture in PEOPLE magazine.

GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dolly, cut her at least a modicum of slack. She's 18, born and raised in the film business. She's never studied theater, nor has she ever learned how to cope with the ups and downs. With more experience, I'm sure she will. She'll have to, if she wants to do this for the rest of her life.

MTVMANN-

Watch "Mean Girls". Lohan gives a nuanced and sexy performance in that film, and I'm surprised that a lot of the actors on this board don't appreciate that.

PS - To those who are interested, download "First", the single in question. It's a catchy tune, and Lohan sounds pretty good on it. Her best vocals are in "Very Last Moment in Time". Updated On: 6/23/05 at 09:19 PM

Icky...

Really icky...

They need to fire her stylist. I'm telling you, I'm really getting sick of actresses dying their hair color, and neglecting to dye the eyebrowns...nasty.

Whatever you do...DONT touch her, she may break in half.

Seriously though, I used to love Lindsay Lohan...she seems "real". Now I'm just discusted. Hollywood has eaten up another potentionally great actress. As for her song not being in the right part of the movie, suck it up. Ick.

So, again, sitting here, not doing much of anything, and decided to actually read the rest of the thread.

Here's what I came up with:

Lohan confirmed with a laugh: "They totally tortured me. They turned the electricity off in my trailer, and they'd bang on the walls."

Now, I CANNOT be the only one that realizes this could be taken in the wrong way. Poor thing, now she's a sadist too!

This thread (as well as others) proves my point perfectly about being a celebrity. What did Lindsay do? She was angry about something for 15 minutes. That's it. She didn't hurt anyone. She didn't trash any property. But look at the number of people just on this board who call her a bitch, wish she was dead and ridicule her. What was her fatal mistake? Expressing it openly so the press could blow it out of proportion. Had she kept her anger bottled up unhealthily, all this idiotic crap wouldn't be flying around.

Think you would like being a celebrity? Hope you never put on a few pounds. The paparazzi will hound you to get every unflattering photo possible and litter the cover of every magazine with wild assumptions regard your health, your sanity and your personal relationships. You'll be a joke on every talk show for months. Lose the weight and it can only be drug abuse or an eating disorder. No other options are considered unless you spend millions on publicity promoting a new diet. And the idiotic masses will accept any story fabricated about your loved ones and family as truth without a second thought. If you fall in love, your relationship will be mocked, ridiculed, dissected and flaunted for the whole world to judge. Every personal choice you make will become the prey of the press and every mistake you make, no matter how small will be offered up for judgement to the public, whether you like it or not. And if that isn't enough, any mistake you have made in the past before your stardom will be dug up and prominently displayed and condemned because you are expected to be a role model to the world.

Think about the last time you got mad about something small and then think about it being shared with everyone and no matter what kind of person you are, you are treated by people you don't even know as if you do not have the right to be angry or upset about anything.

And people wonder why so many celebrities act crazy.

Yea, see, I was just making use of word play...

But I do agree with you...it was just a 15 minute spaz. However, why did she need to make it public? And it is a bit foolish to be upset about, b/c her song has been on T.V (If i'm not mistaken..I think I heard her singing a bit on the tube today). There again, I am being a hypotcrite b/c I too would be upset.

Funny how when a "diva" actually behaves atrociously and dangerously, all is forgiven because she is adored for her talent. When a young new actress simply gets ticked for 15 minutes, she's "immature". Lohan didn't do anything even close to diva-ish. It would have been far more dramatic and destructive.

However, why did she need to make it public?

She didn't NEED to make it public. She found out at the premiere and didn't control her temper and the press were all over it. Unfortunate timing, but that's the whole point. Nobody plans throwing a tantrum.

I don't hate Lindsey. I don't think she is a great actress either, only a good one. I will change my mind as soon as I see something that is not a silly comedy remake.
But I think it is time for her to realise that no one cares what she wants, because the producers decide everything. The sooner she accepts it, the better.

Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."

I really wish people would stop underestimating those movies. The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and especially Mean Girls were among the most acclaimed films of their respective years.

And Mean Girls wasn't a remake either. Though it did owe a debt of thanks to Heathers, I think.

It did owe to "Heathers", but not nearly as much as some think.
