"Rush Limbaugh met the brick wall of reality today as a liberal caller to his radio show asked him why Ronald Reagan, who negotiated with terrorist, raised taxes, granted amnesty to illegal aliens, and cut and ran from Lebanon, is a hero to conservatives. Limbaugh could not answer the question, but he did claim that Reagan never raised taxes and that he was the former president was misunderstood."

I love the way Rush refuses to answer the question, and then tries to make the caller seem like an idiot ("where did you get this from?"), but the caller shoots him right down ("It's general knowledge").
I also find it amusing that Rush, the biggest impediment I know, aside from Sarah The Quitter, to bridging the gap, would try to call someone else out on preventing the gap from being bridged.
I'm anxiously awaiting Goth's arrival in this thread to spin this.

I was surprised Rush was so kind to the guy. He in the past has name called, insulted, and spewed venom as he hangs up on callers who challenge him.I bet whoever screened the called got an earful. I never understood why people like Rachel Maddow and Al Franken and Stephanie Miller never screen their calls but Beck,Hannity, Dr.Laura,Rush and so on feel they have to.There's a reason why Rush and Hanity and the others won't do an interview on live television out of their little comfort zone.Years ago when Rush had his TV show he appeared on Dave Letterman's show and Dave was roasting him big time. Rush looked so uncomfortable and nervous.Rush and the rest of them need to be in total control of the situation.

this topic is actually quite old. i'm surprised this board actually didn't mention something like this sooner. cenk ugyur talked about it on young turks. either the caller saw his clip, or he read the same book (which is mentioned in the comments section of the same video and i confess i'm too lazy to fish out):

like or hate cenk, he's quite right: even though we have a "liberal" president, the mood of the nation is much farther right than it was in the 80s, at the height of republican power. the fact that sharon angle was beating reid at the polls spouting nonsense about how women who were raped and impregnated needed to "make lemonade when given lemons" is more than indicator than that.
