Over at IMDB, someone who does "background work" on the film "Little Children" says they are shooting in Montclair/Upper Montclair again tomorrow. I think its the Norwood Ave Area(There were some technical problems last week so they are back there this week.)
The film stars Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelly, and Patrick Wilson. Patrick plays Brad (Todd in the novel) who is married to Kathy (Jennifer) and has an affair with Sarah (Kate.)
Anyone in that neck of the woods able to check it out.

I'm assuming this is based on the Tom Perrotta novel of the same name. Such a great book! Wilson is perfect for Todd (or Brad in the movie).

Yep, that's the book!
And this definitely puts Patrick in the big leagues as the male lead opposite Kate with Jennifer as a supporting role. Woo Hoo!

KAAAAAAAAAAAATE
JENNNNNNNNNNNNIFER
PAAAAAAAAAAATRICK
this will be SO good
The character in the book is sort of a a young Kevin Costner. I hope Wilson can find that sort of center of gravity. I think Winslet can do anything (and she plays American terrifically). But the trick of this film will be finding the right tone. Like Nora Ephron's HEARTBURN, 20 years ago, it requires a Mike Nichols touch, a sense of time, place, and character. If one element if over-emphasized (like the child molestor), it could be very heavy-handed.

TOUGH DUTY: Patrick Wilson couldn't be much higher on his currently shooting Little Children feature with Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly.
"Not since Angels in America have I had a role that's as meaty," says the actor. "I play a stay-at-home dad, a guy that kind of always wanted to do more with his life than he did. I am married to Jennifer, but you find out that I have an affair with Kate."
Though it's been announced that Patrick's next movie is the Robert DeNiro-directed flick The Good Shepherd, he says it all depends on scheduling. "It's such a great script. I'm really trying to work it out, and I hope I can," he notes.
"Robert DeNiro has been trying to get it done for a few years, and hopefully the movie happens and I'll be in it. I've got my plate full right now, so we'll see what happens," says Wilson, who has four more movies , in the works and expects to return to Broadway in 2006 for Barefoot in the Park.
Four MORE movies. WOO HOO! Even if "The Good Shepherd" doesn't work out...he'll be on the big screen in more stuff!

New York Daily News: Filming is Child's Play
http://www.nydailynews.com/boroughs/story/333546p-285004c.html
A portion of Manor Road in Douglaston, Queens, is enjoying its 15 minutes - and then some - of fame, as it has been turned into a movie set for the filming of "Little Children," due to be released next year.
Directed by Todd Field, the New Line Cinema film stars Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelly and Patrick Wilson in a drama about frustrated married adults who find themselves mired in a sanitized existence of predictable lives, tedious partners - and spoiled children. Meanwhile, a convicted child molester moves into town, illicit affairs occur, Internet porn addiction is injected into the mix and dysfunctional family life abounds.
The film will be shot entirely in New York City, much of it on a leafy suburban Douglaston street chosen for its resemblance to New England, where the fictional film is set. Several homes on the block have been rented for the shoot, which is scheduled to take several weeks.
Movie personnel and the locals seem to be meshing well, as evidenced in an exchange between a homeowner who lives across the street from the set and the production manager.
"This has been a wonderful experience," the resident said. "Everyone I've met has been nothing but a gentleman. You guys are welcome in the neighborhood any time."
