Here is the updated "Little Children" release info according to IMDB:
Canada September 2006 (Toronto Film Festival)
USA 22 November 2006 (New York City, New York)
USA 22 November 2006 (Los Angeles, California)
USA 13 December 2006 (limited)
Looks like they are poising this for an Oscar position. Sliding it in close to the end of the movie season so it
is fresh in folks minds--plus (hopefully) carrying good buzz from the Toronto Festival.
I wonder if Mister Wilson will be at the Festival. I may need to go!

Check out this Oscar Predictions site that mention possible Oscar nods for "Little Children".
http://www.theoscarigloo.com/index.html
On the lefthand side of the main page, select the Screenplay (the top are "original" the bottom are "adapted"--that's where you find "Little Children.")
On the lefthand side of the main screen, select "Supporting Actress" and see that Jennifer Connelly is considered a possible for this category.
Actor and Actress have not been updated yet. It's still waaaay to early to say anyting but it's nice to know that at this early stage, "Little Children" has good buzz.

According to IMDB and www.discoverkate.com, composer Thomas Newman will be doing the soundtrack score for "Little Children." If his name sounds familar its because he gave us those haunting melodies for "Angels in America."
Isn't that great?!

From forestwizard13 on the IMDB messageboard:
"Just went to a book signing at Duke University where I met Tom Perrotta, who is such a nice and humble man. We talked for about 15 minutes about his books and writing style, and he said that he has already seen a rough cut of "Little Children". He said he approved of the film and "really liked" it, even though the film was much darker than the book he wrote. He said a lot of the humor is gone and the film really focuses on the dark, human flaws of the novel, and that he probably would have kept some of the humor in if he was making the film, but he was still really pleased with the whole thing. Also, there is a 3rd person voice over which provides narration for the film, which I think is a very interesting choice, but Perrotta said it makes the film flow well."
And, a recent article described it as being "loosely based" on the novel. Hmmmm...

Hmm...heard (via IMDB) that over at the oscar predictions site: The Oscar Igloo...they have updated the Best Supporting Actor category and now list Patrick THERE for "Little Children". Previously he was for Best Actor. He's still listed in the Best Actor category but they haven't updated it yet.
Why would Brad (Todd in the book) be considered a supporting roler??? Is it because they are going to focus more on Sarah and Ronnie's stories--but Brad is a HUGE part of Sarah's story...AND is involved with Ronnie's via his pal Larry.
I'm confused. Any ideas?

Ty Simpkin's gallery has been updated with 4 pages of pictures from the set/filming of "Little Children." He's the lucky boy who played Patrick's son.
These pictures are fabulous. Many, many I had never seen before...
Mister Wilson, please note that I am NOT making any comments about the shots taken in and around the swimming pool. Beacon1 is being her sweet, innocent, "clean" self. *smoothes wrinkles in her pinafore*
