I don't think they were talking to Mominator, the were talking to whoever would have come in between 6 and 9 Pacific time on Wednesday to the only thread on the first page talking about Lost, it really is only logical that the people posting put in spoilerish stuff.
Also, if Mominator had put her no "spoilers here" admonition when she originally posted I think they would have started a seperate "spoiler" thread.
Hmm, possibly. Mom also didn't know when she started the thread asking who would be watching, that it would turn into the thread people posted on once the show started. 99% of the time, people start a new thread just to start their own.

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
Very true, but since it was not what happened the other thing to do would have been to accept that basically this thread was "jacked" to spoilers and put that in the thread title. No one created another thread (one reason being people always complain that too many threads have been created on a given topic) so this one was the place most people thought to go to post about Lost as they watched it.
I did not see the show when it came on here at 9 so when I came to BWW and saw a thread about Lost, I didn't open it, assuming there could have been spoilers.
OMG! THE GUY FROM THE MOVIE "the new guy" is on LOST as hurley's friend!
woah. SO COOL! lol
oh...and last week's trailer misled me. i really thought that jin was deciving us, u know, with the whole "i speak english" bit.
Not a bad episode....but the excitement factor was pretty low this week.
I figured Bernard was alive, but I was so happy to finally see him I actually started crying.
ETA: And I adore Cynthia Watros I'm so glad to see her working again!

I loved tonights show! I didn't enjoy the other episodes in the past few weeks but this one was great. BTW dose anyone eles here hate Ana-Lucle(sp?) as much as my mom and me? What bug is up her butt?
Ana-Lucia really bugged me, but I keep trying to remember that she seems to be the accepted leader in a tiny dwindling group of really scared people, it could make anyone a b*tch.
I liked the Hurley flashback, it shed a little light on his desperate need to be liked and the lawn gnome thing was awesome. "CLUCK YOU"

I just was annoyed that the episode teased answers and gave us ABSOLUTELY nothing. I don't think we know anything more now than we did at the start of the episode OTHER than that Bernard is still alive and he's really Mr. Gorpley (or the former head of Wolfram and Hart, which, hey, Jin worked for!!!)
I read that the producers are looking to expand the love triangle of Kate, Sawyer and Jack to a rectangle, including Ana-Lucia. Though Cynthia Watros (Libby, was it?) is pretty hot herself. I think my favorite is still Sun though....
what was up with the message in a bottle? i didnt get that. do we know what was in it?
The bottle is full of messages from everyone on the island, that the "raft group" had to give to civiliztion when they reached it.
I loved this episode. Hurley is one of my favorites, I really enjoyed his bachstory getting more detail. He is also the "best leader" they have, he showed that once again.
Jasonf, it really is not about answers. If you keep expecting them to "tell what's happening" then it will be really frustrating. The show is about character dynamics in intense situations. (The new Anna-Lucia group is really going to play into that.) I don't understand the constant need for "excitement and answers" any two hour movie can do that. I want to know what Hurley will do when Charlie, who he is closest to on the island (and very much like his old friend) asks him for something he can't give.
They stole the gnomes from people's yards.
I think I agree about Sun being the hottest.
I LOVED tonight's episode...even more than the past three which, IMO, focused a lot more on the mystery of the hatch than anything. I LOVE Hurley's story and his dilemma...and I loved his solution.
I missed what Bernard said...so he's the husband of Rose right!?

In LA, here, just finished the ep. The Bernard thing made me cry, too! Ach, I love this show!!!
And I want to know what the deal is with the messages, too. Why bury them? Is there something incriminating??
This is my speculation, but it makes sense:
Shannon, Claire and Sun believe the messages would only have come back for one reason, the raft didn't make it. If that happened they think Jin, Sawyer, Walt, and Michael are dead, and their best chance of rescue gone. Sun burried the messages so they other survivors would not find out and lose hope.

smartpenguin78: Well, there ya go! There's a reason you're called SMARTpenguin! I think that is very plausible, indeed. Thanks!
i think we got many answers last nite. i was excited when they michael, sawyer and jin got to the bunker with the "23 other survivors."
now there's, what, five of them? what happened to the others? is it the sickness? did they go mad? is the island quarrantined?
each week we are getting some answers to advance the story but also bringing up more questions. i think the writing is really strong and for the first time this season, the episode "clicked" more than the others shown so far.
MAGIC'S LOST RAMBLINGS: RE- THE 10/12 EPISODE
I thought this episode was really well-done, and quite heart-warming. I adore Hurley, and was so glad to see more of his story. Now if they'd only show the whole "psych ward" thing, I'd be fine.
...I did not notice the Jin-Bernard thing until it was pointed out. OMG.
I heart this show...though Im so confused. I'm so glad they're not answering every question. Otherwise, why would we watch it?
Anyone else think that Charlie has great potential to be one of the biggest jerks as the show rolls along? Just wait til he busts out the heroin in his bag. He's a bit of a brat. He confuses me. Sometimes he's a sweetheart, and sometimes I want to punch him. Unlike Sawyer, who just makes me smile.
And Ana Lucia is NOT working for me so far...
I dislike Shannon, but the fact that she shared her treat with the dog made me dislike her a little less.
and I agree that burying the bottle was to keep up morale.
Charlie has been quite annoying this season. I think this is forshadowing the downward spiral of Charlie (especially with the drugs and all).
I LOVE Hurley! He's just so great...especially when he's about to bomb away the food and tells Rose why he has to do it.
I think Ana Lucia will mellow a bit out...when they all come together with the rest of the survivors...and especially when she sees Jack.
i still think it's cool that bernard and rose are in the hatch at the same time, but they don't even know it! they're SO CLOSE....yet so far away, lol.
and what was with that shower scene? jack opens the door on her...and he just STANDS THERE. and SMILES. i was like, "u jerk, look away or something!" lol. whatever. i guess being on an island makes everybody really close.
"I think this is forshadowing the downward spiral of Charlie (especially with the drugs and all)."
Couldn't agree more.
Yeah, I was surprised that Kate didn't react at all to his standing there staring at her...
Well, I know if I was stuck on an island with Evangeline Lilly after 6 weeks of watching her....I wouldn't be looking away too fast either, social norms be damned.
what's this about bernard? which company did he work for and how does it relate to jin? was it the evil company run by sun's dad?
