Did they do a final episode of I Love Lucy to do the one hour show? And did they ever do a final episode where they said goodbye to each other, or did they just end it?

1) The final episode of I LOVE LUCY was the Statute episode I described a few posts ago--no special goodbyes--that was 1957.

2) In 1960, The final episode of THE LUCY-DESI COMEDY HOUR--"Lucy Meets The Moustache"--ended with these lines:

Lucy: But Honey, I Was Just Trying To Help!

Ricky: Well, from now on the best way you can help is NOT to try and help me. [Then they kiss.]

So, there was sort of an "implied" goodbye.

"I say YOU'RE the CUTEST one. No, I say YOU'RE the CUTEST One. And we go on like that from dawn to three."
