Well, Rowan Atkinson is going to murder Mr. Bean after this film comes out (Which it already has in every other country in the world). What are you feelings on this?
I've always liked Monsieur Bean. He's a lot different from most "wacky" comedy characters in that he really is kind of a dick. He's really self-centered and really inconsiderate. This adds a bit of an interesting twist to the silent comedy homages.
Wow, I didn't know the USA hadn't seen this film yet. I really liked it. It is out on DVD here in 2 weeks!

The original Bean episodes were BRILLIANT.
I still laugh at every single one.
I saw it in Krakow in April. Cute movie. The girl who plays his love interest is adorable and very likable. And Willem Dafoe is classic.
I live in England :)

I saw the trailor for this when I saw Hairspray - it looks really funny.
If you are an Atkinson fan, rent Keeping Mum. He plays a country minister and Maggie Smith plays the housekeeper with a solution for everything. Kind of a Sweeney Todd meets Mary Poppins.
Keeping Mum is great!
I'm very excited for the new Mr. Bean movie! I love the original tv episodes. My HS theatre teacher introduced them (and Brit Coms) to me, and I've been hooked ever since.
Has anyone seen the cartoon episodes? I've always been curious about them.

Well, I saw the movie tonight (despite almost being able to buy it when I was in the UK last week).
LOVED it. Completely in the spirit and essence of the original Bean episodes. Belly laughs every 5 minutes. Tremendously worthwhile...unlike the horrible first movie.

oh good! I am going to see it tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping it would actually be funny - I really disliked the first movie.

Not much dialogue...it's Rowan Atkinson at his physical best.
Very easy and mostly predictable plot - Mr. Bean wins a trip to the beaches of Cannes and, in his haste to make a movie of his trip, manages to separate a father from his son on the train. Of course, the father is a huge Russian film director and a judge in the Cannes Film Festival and Bean is soon wanted for kidnapping.
So many great moments...Jean Rochefort as a waiter who challenges Bean to eat seafood...and later, Bean dancing.
I never found him self-centered, I just found him to be unaware of the rest of the world.
Shbrt, isn't Krakow wonderful!!!!! I liked it so much better than Warsaw (sorry Doxie)
great movie! I saw it recently too.
and the Bean classics. Great!
Saw the movie today. It was really cute. It was better than the first movie. I appreicated that there was very little dialogue since that is the core of the tv episodes. I thought they made this very watchable for modern audiences by adding music and making it rather short. Now I need to watch all the tv episodes.
Here is a fun ten questions with Rowan Atkinson. We find out why Teddy didn't make it into the movie.

ETA: The little girl at the beginning of the movie (at the raffle) is his real life daughter.

I saw the preview during my several viewings of "Hairspray" in San Francisco. People actually groaned, hissed and booed loudly at the trailer each time I saw it.
oh well, to each his own. I often feel like booing and hissing at many previews, but I tend to contain myself.
