When I put my music CD in the disk drive, it spins for a while, stops, spins and then ejects. This all happens over a course of 45 seconds to a minute. It also happens with DVD's.
I consulted Google, and the help application and it said I needed to clean the disc which I did. I also put the computer on a flat surface to balance the spinning of the disc.
For those of you who don't know most Macintosh laptops do not have a disc tray--they have a slot on the side or front of the computer that allows you just stick the disc in.
Any help would be appreciated!!
EDIT: Sometimes it will make a clicking noise during the spinning process. It doesn't sound healthy.

Is there something inside the slot thing?

I'm afraid so. And I'm probably going to have to have it sent in or something.
Ooh, yeah, that sounds like something is wrong w/ your disc drive. When you take it in, be sure to back up your whole hard drive - I had a similar problem and their solution involved accidentally wiping my hard drive. Learn from my mistakes!
I would have thought your parents would send the butler out to buy you a new one

Premature disk ejaculation is always a problem for the rich. It's the new gout, don't ya know!
Is it a MacBookPro? I have one and it does the same. There's a malfunction in a lot of them in the disk drive. I know two friends who have gotten there's fixed. You'll have to send it in for about a week.
I need to do that within the next couple of weeks. I've been reliant on importing cds on others computers and then using flash drives. It's the only problem the computer has. I love my Mac!!

you guys are such tools. I didn't realize you had access to Fab's bank acct. info. Or are you just making silly remarks b/c you have nothing else to offer?
taz I was serious, I can't see his parents allowing him to do something as pedestrian as trying to fix a machine. That's what "common" people do.
I seriously expect then to send out Bensonmum to buy a new one.
