In "North By Northwest," in the scene where Eva Marie Saint shoots Cary Grant, a little boy in the background puts his fingers in his ears before she pulls the gun out.
In "Phonebooth" there is an "old fashioned" phone booth on 8th Avenue.
In reality, there is no such phone booth in that spot.
Any movie that uses any accents or dialects usually f's up something. There are millions of errors, both by the actors, and by the directors and dramaturgs...
Anyone notice how many different accents were in the Phantom movie? And yet, only a few of them French. Hmm.

Yes, but can that be considered a screw-up? It's just the setting for the film.
In Vertigo, there is another San Francisco error. Through the window of the aparment in which James Stewrat's character lives, you very clearly see a view of Coit Tower in the near distance. In reality, the area in which the apartment would be is situated such that Coit Tower would be miles away and blocked by numerous hills.
In the original Halloween the cars have California license plates on the, however the movie takes place in IL.
Also in Halloween, which,as you said takes place in IL, you can see palm trees in the background.
In Star Wars(and I'm not a fan, but my BF is, so I really don't know the names of the characters), one of the guys white(Jedi Soldiers?) hits his head on a rising door as it rises.
well...if we are going to talk about star wars...
there is no sound in space...
Oh... I can't believe I forgot this one.
In Jurassic Park, at the beginning, when (I forgot all the names, I'm terrible with names) the fat guy goes to a rest. in SAN JOSE, Costa Rica to meet with the bad guy, the title block says "San Jose, Costa Rica", they even have a little billboard that announces CRs best selling beer (Imperial), yet it's an outdoor restaurant under palm trees ON THE BEACH! For those of you who know, San Jose is actually inland, about 1,100 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains.

HALLOWEEN is loaded with them. In addition to the aforementioned:
Laurie meets up with Tommy while he's walking to school and she's walking to drop off a key at the Meyer's house (which indicates that they live very near one another); but when it's time to babysit him, she is picked-up in a car by Annie, and they drive and drive and drive. For so long, that at one point, Annie's father is shielding his eyes from what looks like sun at high noon (it's supposed to be 5 or 6 in the evening on October 31st), but they get to Tommy's house in the pitch dark. Also, Laurie tells Annie that she's babysitting right next door to where Annie is going to be. Annie is actually across the street from where Laurie is babysitting.
In Moulin Rouge, when they're in the Elephant, Satine's hair is all messy, then, in the next shot it's perfectly bouncy and curly.

I would say the whole of Moulin Rouge is a major screw-up. I, seriously, felt like I would vomit through most of it.
oh, i could go on for PAGES about GONE WITH THE WIND. if you enjoy this kind of thing, go to ...
