One of my favorite girl porn stars, also great in David Cronenberg's RABID:
The adult film and sometime-mainstream actress Marilyn Chambers was found dead in her mobile home yesterday, days short of her 57th birthday.
Chambers was best known for her 1972 X debut, Behind the Green Door, the story behind which is depicted in the biopic Rated X. She modeled as an Ivory Snow girl, appeared in dozens of other films, and also ran for Vice President.
No official cause of death has been given yet, but her death is being attributed to an overdose of pills and alcohol, at least on Wikipedia

I don't mean to be disrespectful here, but I thought Marilyn Chambers died some time back. For a while she was living out here in Shirley, Long Island (one step above a trailer park community) and photos in the local papers indicated that she's become pretty sad looking. There were reports of some sort of organ transplant and then her death.
I know she led a very unhappy life.

Damn! Pal Joey beat me to the "Too much pills and liquor" joke.
Lots of porn stars (male and female) have died young - whether it be suicide, accidental overdose, complications from A.I.D.S., murder - whatever.

I was gonna comment on this 4 hours ago, but then I started googling which led to other actresses and well... I got distracted.
By the time I discovered Marilyn, she was in all those horrible soft core Showtime movies. I think there was one where she played a madame who catered to fetishes and then took pics of the clients to blackmail them. Good times.

At least Andrea Dworkin and the Women Against Pornography bunch never got their claws into Marilyn and tossed her aside when they had got all the use they could out of her.
