Someone please tell me how Jason Taylor's jive was better than hers! Please!
While I do not disagree with the judges comments tonight, I do think the scoring was a bit harsh.

Posted: 4/1/08 at 12:48amI think her scores were a bit harsh, as well; but the expectation for a Tony-winning Broadway musical star is a bit higher than a football player. Don't you think?

Posted: 4/1/08 at 1:06amI did notice a definite decrease in energy on her part, but I didn't think it was boring like the judges said. She needs our votes tonight. I think this could be it for her.

I agree with the judges that the routine was really boring. But, I don't blame her for that. That was Tony's choreography.

Posted: 4/1/08 at 10:34amJohnBOy, I think you are right, but that would mean the contestants are being judged against their own ability and not against each other, which is the way a competition works.

Posted: 4/1/08 at 10:55amOh, I think they've always done that. Mario Lopez, for example, would get blasted for things that were really incredibly well-done.

Posted: 4/1/08 at 1:59pmI don't see her lasting this time, especially as the judges started (inexplicably) sucking up to smirky, unfunny Adam Carolla, who dances like Robby the Robot. He's like an obnoxious party guest constantly pushing boring jokes and anecdotes.

I don't know, roquat; usually what happens when a contestant gets slammed is America feels sorry for him/her and thinks, "Ha! We'll show those judges and keep him/her!"
At least I hope so!

I hope so, but Carolla has a much larger fan base (of equally obnoxious radio listeners who are used to calling in to register their opinions). I wonder if that's why the judges have been so easy on him...
Another thing I can't stand about that show ("American Idol" has this problem to a much larger degree) is the reflexive audience booing as soon as a judge makes the slightest criticism. It's like they have to block out anything that isn't immediate fawning admiration...

Posted: 4/1/08 at 9:40pmI'm so happy she is safe. Wonder who's going home tonight.

Posted: 4/2/08 at 2:04amThat was crazy. I thought for sure she wouldn't have a large enough fan base. Not in a bad way. I'm happily surprised.

Is Marissa Pregnant? I think this has been mentioned before, but I can't remember. She said something like, "Who cares, I'm going to have a baby".
Isn't all this dancing bad during a pregnancy?
#12re: Marissa on 'Dancing with the Stars'
Posted: 4/2/08 at 5:05amExertion (heavy walking, etc) is used to hurry the pregnancy.

I am surprised she made it to next week. The choreography was way to easy for her to do, especially for jive. When I heard she was going to do the jive I had very high expectations but it turned out to be way too easy.
Hopefully next week will be better

#15re: Marissa on 'Dancing with the Stars'
Posted: 4/2/08 at 10:35amI worry about her fan base as well, but America likes to rally behind the contestant that the judges slam. Plus, she still could have been in the bottom two. She certainly has her work cut out for her!

Posted: 4/2/08 at 2:20pmWell, I sure ain't gonna miss Gutenberg, who seemed to think he was auditioning for "It's a Small World"--he makes Maria von Trapp seem like Sylvia Plath. Now if only they can get rid of Carolla...

Ok, I have a question for people based on a conversation I had with a friend about Marissa. We were talking baout how she is at risk and she said that it was "because she is fat and they don't want to see a fat girl on TV."
Do you agree? I know I didn't. She is not my favorite, but it isn't her fault, it is her partners. He doesn't realize what she can do and does not give her the best choreography. Especially in the jive, hers should have been much better because she can dance. I also think people expect more from her because she has dancing in her background (just like they expect more from Kristi). I think she is a very good dancer and she gets at least one vote from me every week!
What do you think? Is it all because of weight? Partially because of weight? Nothing to do with her weight?
