I can only hope and pray that Mark is having a blast dancing his way through heaven right now. He was honestly one of the most beautiful human beings I've ever had the pleasure to meet. We took acting classes together a few years back and he was such a positive and radiant spirit. I know his family must be in such pain now, but I believe he's in a better place (certainly after having been in a coma for two years)
God love you Mark...I'm thinking about you and missing your beautiful smile.
We'll miss your spirit, Mark
Let's hope is is teaching all the angels in heaven how to dance!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I knew him when we both lived in Houston and he was such a sweet and talented guy. God bless his soul.
Somehow I just can't believe it. You run into so many mean spirited people every day in this big wide world, but you don't ever expect something like this to happen to someone like Mark - and Mark didn't have one negative bone in his body. Everyone who came into contact with him simply loved him. I hope he didn't suffer much (or at all)...and I know God must be happier about having him that much closer.
I was just telling Rath in a PM about the time in class when I was working on a song with a waltz tempo and I couldn't seem to get the phrasing right, so Andy (Gale, our teacher - fabulous) had Mark get up and waltz with me to get the rythm right - and Mark never took his eyes from mine and just smiled that glorious smile - it was a beautiful moment and I cried when I just thought about it - what a wonderful man he was (is)...waltzing with those angels now...
I know what you're saying, redhot. Mark was kind to EVERYONE. He would treat you as a friend the moment you meet him. In the catty incestuous world of regional theatre, I never knew one person who had a bad thing to say about him.
Following up on Beaverhausen, what was that other saying? God needed one of his angels back.
I think it will give new meaning to some of the stuff I sing about in my show next week, thats for sure (that one's for you, Marky!)
he will be greatly missed by us all! what a talented dancer!

I'm so sorry I never actually saw him in a show - I only knew him from classes and the occasional chats we'd have when we bumped into each other in the neighborhood (more than once he invited me up for tea and we'd just laugh and cry over silly stuff)...I know from his carriage that he must have been a truly talented dancer - and his singing was sweet and soulful - what a great man.
I did get to see him in Sweet Smell and Movin' Out. He is also on the DVD of Fosse with another friend of mine from Houston, Parker Esse.
now that you say that - I think I did see Fosse when it was broadcast on television - or am I dreaming that? I seem to remember picking him out of the ensemble...
Yes. And he is announced during the bows.
sometime I'll have to get that dvd and watch for that moment - I thik I only caught bits and pieces when it was aired originally - thanks Matt.

so very sad.. and so awful for his partner, family, and friends. My thoughts are with them.
A friend worked with him Houston on a production of The Secret Garden, in which Mark played Dickon memorably.

How sad. Another very talented dancer....
But on the opposite side of the spectrum, he's at peace now.... especially after having spent two years in a coma.
I'll say a prayer for his family and for his soul's safe arrival in heaven.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
