Have you seen the trailer for that Jesus Camp movie, bway?
As a Southern Baptist who went to a very affluent church in the suburbs when I was in middle school before attending a private Christian university, this movie definitely struck a chord. My dad hated it on principle because it portrayed Christians in a bad light (even though he has never seen it).
In my opinion, it doesn't do that at all. It portrays people who care more about using their religion to exclude and judge others than using it to spread love. And people like that ALWAYS deserve to be lampooned.
He also argues that no Christian girl would have sex to save her boyfriend from homosexuality. Obviously he hasn't met the same painfully misguided girls I have.
"Us Christian girls have got to learn to protect ourselves. I mean, sure Jesus could restore my physical and spiritual virginity, especially if I lost it to some rapist, but who wants that? I'm saving myself for marriage, and I'll use force if necessary."

I ADORE this movie. I still remember seeing the trailer two years ago with my friend. I live in an area that's the complete opposite of the movie, (we're all liberal agnostics who've been raised Jewish) so we couldn't believe that there were people who asked, "Who's down with G-O-D?"
Now I know that there are people like this, which makes it even funnier. But then...
