You know who aren't such big fans of Cory Booker? The people of Newark.

"This thread has inspired me to locate a local diaper bank, I didn't even know such things existed."
Me too...I was completely in the dark.

If the citizens of Newark didn't like him, why do so many take part in conversations with him on Twitter about actual city services?
That meme plays out too. The reality show Brick City covered that angle.

Diapers are a big issue for a poor mom- disposables are expensive and cloth diapers can present huge logistics problems- especially since poor families are way less likely to have their own washing machine.
Diapers can cost $30-40 a week.

I spent only a couple of minutes, but the sites I came upon first on Google seemed to indicate his approval rating is pretty high.

Yes, and many poor families without reliable access to transportation have to buy their diapers from smaller convenience stores/bodegas, where diapers are usually more expansive than at a supermarket or superstore. And as Joe and JerseyGirl have pointed out, there are zero public assistance programs that provide diapers. Private charities and churches make up most of the burden there.
