Not to be outdone, today John McCain's campaign bought $6m (compared to Obama's $5m) in ad time during the Olympics. How long until Obama buys an addition $1.1m?

And how much is an Olympics ad anyway? It has to be at least 500K for a 30 second spot, right? So this is 12 ads?
I hope they get aired during men's swimming and diving. Wasted money!
was that sarcasm or stupidity?
swimming is traditionally one of the highest rated television events of the olympics. in 2004, 26 million people tuned in to watch michael phelps and ian thorpe duel making it the most watched night of the entire games.
so yeah, i hope it's during men's swimming too since that'll reach a lot more people than airing during any other event.

Papa I believe that Einstein was saying tht only the g-a-y-s watch those two events. Or something like that. It's hurting my head to try to figure out what he meant.
yeah, i thought it had to be sarcasm. but...

es mambo, in all seriousness and not thinking about the opposition (I'll get to that one later), do you really believe that McCain would be a good president and that the America would benefit from 4 or even 8 years leadership from this man?
I'm not saying that a person in their 70's shouldn't continue working, but some positions do require absolute command of mental and physical abilities, not to mention having an open mind to world developments. I've noticed that people in their late years are often very rigid in their thinking and set in their ways. Do you think this man will have the flexibility, stamina, endurance and insight to drive America in the 21st century? Is he in your opinion the best choice for America?
I am looking for an honest, candid answer if you are capable of giving it.
look, gslc, i know better than most that sometimes sarcasm gets lost in translation to the message board. that's why i asked. it's why i said, i thought it was sarcasm, but...
krissy, yes, i do.

OK- NBC has announced today that Olympics spots are going for $750K each for a 30 second spot. So Obama's hyped buy is 6 spots. McCain might get 8. It's ridiculous that so much was made of this.
