Towleroad puts it well: "This morning on NBC, Meredith Vieira questioned John McCain about placing the blame for some of the trouble on Wall Street on CEO greed while putting Carly Fiorina at the head of his economic policy team. Fiorina walked away from Hewlett-Packard with a $45 million golden parachute severance package after being fired while 20,000 others were laid off.
McCain claims he does "not know the details" of that, and then claims Fiorina deserved it because she was a good CEO."
Looks like the media is growing a pair

Watch how often McCain blinks when he's responding; that's a sign of doscomfort and dishonesty.
I was telling my husband today that McCain really needs to do something about his jowels. Is it just me or do they seem to be getting worse.

I just can't help but feel bad for the guy- he obviously knows he's full of it. He can't sell this crap because he obviously doesn't believe what's coming out of his mouth. When you see a really first class liar like George W Bush, it seems like he really BELIEVES his lies.
I think the debates are going to be really interesting.
I think W really does believe himself.
I think McCain was an honorable man who has become consumed by this campaign. Below is a direct quote from McCain's 2000 memoir. With all the accusations made by his campaign regarding Obama's ambition and alleged lack of patriotism, I can't believe the media hasn't questioned him on this:
"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president."
I always believed that Carly Fiorina would be more of a liability to his campaign than Sarah Palin. Carly is toxic!
I don't feel sorry for him, and I no longer give a damn about whatever honor he achieved or exhibited in the past. Anyone who'd select the woefully inadequate medicority that is Palin in a last-ditch effort to secure the presidency is deeply narcissistic and excessively cynical about surviving in the political landscape. He's clearly in this for one thing, for himself, and his irony laden slogan "country first" is the single most perverse element in a campaign built on perversity. Read Matt Taibi in the current Rolling Stone.

I can't remember where I saw it but it was a clip of McCain campaigning with Palin. As she talked you could see the flashes of panic on his face- it was like watching someone watch a baby play with a handgun.

I've seen that, too, Joe. It's been on more than one occasion, but the worst had to be his frozen smile during the town hall, when Sarah's bullsh-t non-answer was followed by her nervous little "if ya wanna throw a little pop quiz at me, go 'head!"
How I wished the woman with the mic would have said, "Okay, great! What's the capital of Iraq?" I wonder if she would have had to think about it.
Sadly, lots of the crowds are eating up the B.S. at the rallies.

THAT was indeed the clip! His visible nervousness as Palin BS-ed her way through her non-answer was PRICELESS!
